The elusive STL returns with a 3-track EP on his newfound home of Dark Matters.

‘Nonzero Sonics’ is the sixth label release to date, and their first to emerge this year.

Stephan Laubner has enjoyed an accomplished career with releases on labels including Perlon, Smallville and Echospace. Despite a scarcity of interviews and public appearances, his reputation as a devoted audiophile and hardware enthusiast has afforded him a loyal following in underground music circles. This release marks the beginning of a new chapter with Amirali’s Dark Matters imprint.

‘Nonzero Sonics’ explores dark and twisted sentiments in avant-garde structures, consistently executed with impeccable detail. ‘No More Words’ meditates on elements of dub and techno in an extended form, whilst ‘Smooth Selector’ establishes a stripped back groove replete with sub frequencies and cavernous echoes. Closing track ‘Out Of The One’ places peculiar harmonies in a tranquil framework, exemplifying the diversity of a producer with true dedication to his craft.

To those who try to change their habits for a better place for their children.

To those who struggle to have their voices heard through their opinion or their art, in countries where silence reigns.

Dark Matters is a record label and visual project curated by @amiraliofficial.

With the aim of releasing original material from live acts and Amirali’s own productions, the scope of the label is broad, ranging from techno to abstract pop and ambient.

Dark Matters will also be hosting global events which will fuse live performances and visuals that express the dark and psychedelic concept behind the label.
Dark Matters is a cohesive experience where ‘weird’ and ‘unusual’ are encouraged. It aims to push people to the edge of their comfort zone and keep them there. 

By the very definition of the term Dark Matters, the label aims to initiate a response from listeners and partygoers. It serves as a connection to galaxies, the mysteries of the universe, the beginning of a concept bigger than we can imagine.

The imprint will continue to cultivate, maintaining a commitment to unearthing and displaying new talent as well as exhibiting Amirali's refined musical statement.
