As cigarras têm um ciclo de vida bastante característico delas, tendo três fases. A primeira fase é o momento que são ovos, enquanto na segunda fase são consideradas ninfas (cigarras jovens), vivendo embaixo do solo, numa profundidade de 30 centímetros até 2,5 metros, por um período que, dependendo do país, pode variar de alguns meses a 17 anos.

Após esse tempo, elas cavam na terra a sua saída, para, finalmente, viver na superfície, como cigarras adultas. Em razão dessa especificidade das cigarras, são, muitas vezes, vistas como uma representação simbólica da transição e da renovação.

Também conectado ao tempo que permanecem sob o solo, há a associação da cigarra com a resistência e a capacidade de saber qual é o momento certo para subir à superfície. Ou seja, paciência para saber aguardar o tempo que for necessário para seguir adiante com o seu ciclo.
Quando a cigarra canta é sinal de chuva?
Cientificamente, o canto da cigarra está ligado à reprodução das cigarras, quando os machos começam a cantar, por meio de um som originado na sua barriga, para atrair as fêmeas. As cantorias costumam ser executadas durante os meses quentes – primavera e verão – e, por isso, é frequente ser também épocas de chuva, o que traz a conexão frequente entre o canto e a chuva.

Apesar dessa explicação, o canto da cigarra é simbolicamente entendido com uma forma sensual de chamar as fêmeas, assim como uma demonstração de amor, onde o som busca atrair uma companheira para a reprodução. Assim, a cigarra é também um símbolo de sensualidade e amor.

Ainda, outra interpretação da representação simbólica do canto da cigarra está no trabalho em equipe. Afinal, cantam em coro, em benefício de todo o grupo.

Simbologia de uma cigarra dentro de casa
Tal como as simbologias já mencionadas, uma cigarra dentro de casa pode significar a presença de um sinal ou desejo de mudança, de transformação, ressurreição ou de enfrentamento de novos desafios.

Na região de Provença, como veremos mais detalhadamente adiante, ela traz ainda o símbolo de sorte.
A cigarra, na simbologia espiritual, traz o desafio e a importância de repensar a vida e as atitudes passadas, quando necessário. Ela tem a vocação de ajudar nesse momento de reflexão do passado, de modo a que se possa aprender com as experiências em busca de atitudes positivas para o futuro.

O animal espiritual da cigarra traz o rejuvenescimento emocional, proporcionando que se olhe a vida com novos olhos. Esse encontro com a alma se conecta com os sons emitidos pela cigarra.

Pelo tempo de vida que algumas cigarras podem durar, o seu animal espiritual também é símbolo de longevidade.

Curran who did underground experiments in the 70's, to interpret the nature of electro magnetic phenomena to explain the fundamentals of Light.
