What an incredible weekend spinning in the Karoo Desert at the Place of Dreams! We played the 1pm slot on the Friday at POD1 with this set, starting at a lekke slow 105BPM to ease us into the musical journey of Friday at POD! 

A massive shout out to everyone that enjoyed this set with us, it was an absolute jol to lay this set down and get that dance floor moving and grooving. We added one or two vocal remixes that will tickle your memories in the best ways.

▌I What’s your history with music in general and DJ-ing especially?
My history with music started when I was 6 years old and I entered my musical school studying fortepiano. I graduated in 10 years, and since then music had always been a part of my journey. I stated Djing in 2010, and what at first was just a hobby, turned into a serious game for me in 2015 when I became a resident of Ukraine's most famous club - Ibiza Beach Club. I did warm-ups for many well-known Djs there (David Guetta, WhoMadeWho, Monolink, Black Coffee, CamelPhat, Artbat etc.) and performed in Berlin, London, New York soon after.

▌II What’s your favorite drink while being behind the decks in the Club?
Water.

▌III What’s your favorite food?
I love healthy food, my favourite is probably Avocado Toast with Salmon. 
But I do enjoy pizza too!

CASSEGRAIN are Greek-British producer Alex Tsiridis and Berlin/Vienna based composer and producer Hüseyin Evirgen. With a well developped sensitiveness the duo designs futuristic and dark techno soundscapes with a strong experimental touch. 
TIN MAN is another outstanding artist and the second half of this collaboration. With his releases on Cheap Records, Global A and the Sähkö sub label Keys of Life he proved well, how easily he can switch between strong classic acid and abstract, postmodern songwriting.

We continue our story with the deep, delicate sounds and beautiful music of Hiroyuki Kajino.

Hiroyuki is a driving force for dance music in Japan, having run some of the countries best record shops and pioneering the DJ mix format on FM Yokohama. Starting out as a new wave DJ and later on focusing on hip hop, he soon released a record on one Major Force, one of the most prevalent hip hop labels of the time. He later worked with Masabumi Kikuchi on deep house and  opened for the legendary Larry Levan of Paradise Garage fame. 

Today he’s focused on making new music and his sounds can be heard on labels such as All Day I Dream, Everything Will Be OK and Loot Recordings to name a few. His new remix with Yuichiro Kotani of SIlence Path “Alternative Reality” is a deep affair of rolling drums and warm piano melodies. We hope you enjoy the story Hiroyuki tells through his gentle rhythms and emotive style.
