Based in Melbourne Australia, Bronx mixes old school jungle and hardcore flavours from all eras, crafting amen heavy journeys for the listener that balance the dark and uplifting and move deftly around the genre.

DJing with the PsyBusSpaceLounge at Australia’s Rainbow Serpent festival for several years, Bronx has more recently found her home amongst the Camps With Amps crew, and at the Run it Red Jungle Sessions run by iconic Melbourne jungle label and sound system, Echo Chamber.

Over the past two years Bronx has also contributed guest mixes to internet radio shows on Underground Melbourne with Andrew Law, and Weekend Rush FM.

Lubi's mix starts off in Bladrunner esque fashion, the movie that is, with break laden rollers, switching up into some amen pressure, splashing in some atmospherics tunes, and finishing it off with a heaping spoonful of 160 vibes!! Released, unreleased, and older tunes in the mix!! Lubi J crushed this mix!!

1. Tell us about exciting upcoming gigs and guest mixes you have.

(If this goes out before Friday) I'm playing this weekend at the amazing vinyl-only night called Education Sessions in Bristol run by Dannerz. I'll be playing back-to-back with Buzzby, who is an amazing DJ that I met through Optimystic in Bristol, but also happens to be based in Wales. Really looking forward to digging deep into the collection for this one! 
Then the week after I'll actually be heading to Croatia for my very first Noise Test, playing a set alongside some amazing headliners, including Noise Test's own Medika, Chris Inperspective, Nominee/Outrage, Subject 13, Jungle Drummer, Phuture T and Threshold. Buzzby is also joining me there too and I'm planning on playing a set of all unreleased Welsh and Wales-based jungle dnb, in keeping with the festivals' ethos, which will include a couple of my own tunes too!

2. What are 3 tunes that do not leave your USB?

Spirit - Dial VIP (Just an absolute killer - tears the dance up every single time and I just love how he switches it up throughout the track)
Digital & Response - Silver Lining (Seba's Arctic remix) (I carry a lot of Seba tunes but this probably gets rinsed most, it works in a heavy set or a more atmospheric set - Seba is the king of balancing light and dark!)
Skanna - Nightstalker (when I'm playing more around the 160 tempo this one is a percy. Big hype classic. And the vocals and euphoric pads are just dreamy)

3. Tell us something that’s invisible that you wish people could see.

The inner turmoil inside a DJ's mind that comes from simply pressing the 'record' button haha!

Gifta & Dapreme - Out Of Luck (feat. Ekstatic) VIP

Since being introduced to Hardcore/Jungle by a family member back in 1993 I was hooked by the fast tempo, samples, basslines and Mc’s that would ride over a tune. Notable radio stations I would listen to were Kool, Don, Scandal, Pulse, Dream, Transmission 1, Eruption, Flex and Ruud. It’s great to see some of these still going or come back. 

Listening to the DJ's on these stations as well as Hype (for his scratching ability and selection) inspired me to try my hand at mixing and after going through several inferior decks I finally got hold of two 1210's that made all the difference to home in on the craft and I never looked back since. I still have them to this day and would consider them family. 

From 2004 I took a hiatus from D&B and sold off all my records but since 2015 there has been a resurgence of the scene that I have got totally addicted to again just like the first time so the vinyl collection has steadily built once more. 

With the improved capability of live streaming I began playing on www.onlyoldskoolradio.com and www.futuredrumz.com in 2018 which then led me to joining Jungletrain in 2019 then onto Dream FM and now most recently, Thames Delta Radio for a monthly show.  

I have made playlists of my shows from each of the stations mentioned above along with any studio mixes I have done to listen back on.
