Darkstaar is Ozie Vox a.k.a. DJ Darkstaar

Darkstaar is an American Industrial Rock band founded and created by DJ/Producer Ozie Vox, a.k.a. DJ Darkstaar, and is currently based out of Los Angeles, California. He is a self-taught programmer, instrumentalist and songwriter being the only creative force and voice behind the project. Presently Ozie Vox is solely responsible for its lyrical and musical content. He is highly dedicated in experimenting and exploring a hybrid of Heavy Rock, Metal, Electronic genres together with Industrial Rock and raising the bar both in the studio and live performances. The live outfit of the band is a revolving door of elite local musicians that support the project and its direction. Darkstaar’s music vision is to bring forth the Industrial Rock genre to the masses by delivering a creative innovative perspective of a live Electronic Rock band to life.

Darkstaar’s approach and lyrical message relates to one’s inner struggles and life experiences an individual may encounter. Creating a more intimate level of lyrical content for the listener, by daring to admit to the realism of being besieged with self-loathing and decadence on dark paths, one can overcome obstacles. What once was a dream can become a reality by turning a bad experience into a positive outcome. 

The theme of the Darkstaar project is to take the artistic direction from angelic fallen entities. “Dark” is to be without light. A “Star” is a massive luminous sphere of plasma. An “Angel” is sometimes referred to a morningstar of creation. A “Dark Star” is a star heated by annihilation of dark matter particles within it that outwardly resembles a black hole. “Darkstaar” represents an optimistic perspective of our universe through visualization and interpretation of sound. We all have the capacity to raise from the ashes and have symmetry play a greater part in our lives.
