Hi, welcome to Dark Sessions, today is Monday, May 3 of 2021. Our fifth episode It’s not like the usual, we want to share with you the situation going on in our country, and it is our way to protest against the government in Colombia. The government and specially the president are carrying out a tax reform in the midst of the pandemic, to tax the basic foods and primary services like water, energy, gas, and salaries of up to usd 650, among others primary things; while the government is spending billions of the budget in weapons, publicity to improve the president’s bad image, armored SUVs for the president, warplanes, and more. Meanwhile the people are starving, out of work, and living difficult situations because of the pandemic. At least 45% of Colombian population are living below poverty line. For these reasons in the third peak of the pandemic and the worst of them, the population are protesting on the streets to overthrow the reform and government, and the president action was sending the armed forces against us, they are killing us, shooting against the people, denigrating the right to protest with excessive use of force, raping, unjustifiably detaining, beating, and murdering. Today, we raise the voice of the international community to help us by denouncing this situation against human rights. To this mission we present an emerging guest and friend who has been sharing his music amid the protests. Juan Esteban Calderon AKA Atmost was born in Armenia city. Juan is a versatile artist, who experiments between mental, groove and dark techno. Inspired by artists such as Christian Wunsch, Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Setaoc Mass, Jeroen Search, among others. Hola, bienvenido a Dark Sessions, hoy es lunes 3 de mayo de 2021. Nuestro quinto episodio no es como de costumbre, queremos compartir con ustedes la situación que está pasando en nuestro país, y es nuestra forma de protestar contra el gobierno en Colombia. El gobierno y especialmente el presidente están llevando a cabo una reforma tributaria en medio de la pandemia, para gravar los alimentos básicos y servicios primarios como agua, energía, gas y salarios hasta de usd 650, entre otros rubros primarios; mientras que el gobierno gasta miles de millones del presupuesto en armas, publicidad para mejorar la mala imagen del presidente, camionetas blindadas para el presidente, aviones de combate y más. Mientras tanto, la gente pasa hambre, no tiene trabajo y vive situaciones difíciles a causa de la pandemia. Al menos el 45% de la población colombiana vive por debajo del umbral de pobreza. Por estos motivos en el tercer pico de la pandemia y el peor de ellos, la población está protestando en las calles para derrocar la reforma y el gobierno, y la acción del presidente fue enviar a las fuerzas armadas contra nosotros, nos están matando, disparando contra las personas, denigrando el derecho a protestar con uso excesivo de la fuerza, violando, deteniendo injustificadamente, golpeando y asesinando. Hoy, alzamos la voz de la comunidad internacional para que nos ayude denunciando esta situación contra los derechos humanos. A esta misión presentamos a un invitado y amigo emergente que ha estado compartiendo su música en medio de las protestas. Juan Esteban Calderon AKA Atmost nació en la ciudad de Armenia. A mysterious and deep sound producer is forming in the dark and cold nights of Pereira, Colombia. Gotshell a.k.a Alessan Main is the great ambassador of the Colombia electronic music scene. Inspired by the first wave of old school techno, mixing the advanced sound of the genre and expanding deeper into even more electronic and instrumental music styles like IDM, ambient, experimental, dub, just to name some examples. Gotshell is an artist who always hopes to maintain an aesthetic and refined composition of the underground culture.

After his first release on the legendary Techno imprint, Planet Rhythm in 2014, over 10 more releases, 12¨, came out on labels like Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Epm music, and James Ruskin´s Blueprint. His Remixes on two of the most historical acid techno foundations, Synewave and Missile Records, got the attention of many of the key DJs in the scene. Such as Carl Cox who signed him on Intec under his alias Alessan Main. Another project of Alessan Main, was collaboration with Dantiez Saunderson on Kms records, Kevins Saunderson’s label.

Unpredictable Rhythms, chaotic and psychedelic soundscapes describe his live sets, which have taken him regularly to almost every corner of his home country, Colombia, and a successful European Tour in 2017 that ended at the Tresor Club, Berlin.

En nuestro episodio 22 presentamos una sesión distinta a lo habitual, preparada por un artista que viene sonando muy fuerte en la escena del eje cafetero, él es Juan Pablo Gallego AKA Paul Basshell, Juan trae un set diferente, desde un Groove mental hasta llegar a sonidos fuertes y contundentes. 

Es un artista oriundo de la ciudad de Pereira, Colombia. Sus raíces como productor lo llevan a identificarse con en el Hard, Acid, Industrial y Raw Techno; actualmente con presencia el sellos como IAMT, Dolma Rec, Raw sery (Formato vinilo), DSR Digital, hace parte del colectivo colombiano Station Group, además de ser el CEO del sello discográfico Acid For Rats.

Sobresale gracias a su puesta en escena integrándola con sonidos Contundentes, Mordenos y Densos, lo cual lo llevan a hacer un set dinámico y bailable, lo que ha hecho posible su participación en tarima al lado de artistas como 999999999 Live, Airod, Nico Moreno, T78, D-unity, LTVL, 3T1X, entre muchos más nacionales.

En el 2021 aparece en el top 100 de Beatport en repetidas ocasiones donde destaca en la categoría de hard techno.

Viene construyendo bien su camino pues ha recibido support de artistas como: Airod, Nico Monero, Fatima Hajji, Spartaque, quien han tocado sus tracks en festivales como el Verknipt

In our 22nd episode we present a different session than usual, prepared by an artist who has been playing very loudly in the “Eje Cafetero” scene, he is Juan Pablo Gallego AKA Paul Basshell, Juan brings a different set, from a mental Groove to industrial and Bass sounds.

He is an artist from the city of Pereira, Colombia. His roots as a producer lead him to identify with Hard, Acid, Industrial and Raw Techno; Currently with a presence on labels such as IAMT, Dolma Rec, Raw sery (vinyl format), DSR Digital;  he is part of the Colombian collective Station Group, in addition to being the CEO of the record label Acid For Rats.

He stands out thanks to his staging, integrating it with Forceful, Morden and Dense sounds, which lead him to make a dynamic and danceable set, which has made possible to share stage alongside artists such as 999999999 Live, Airod, Nico Moreno, T78, D-unity, LTVL, 3T1X, among many more nationals artists.

In 2021 he appears in the Beatport top 100 repeatedly where he stands out in the hard techno category.

He has been building his path well as he has received support from artists such as: Airod, Nico Monero, Fatima Hajji, Spartaque, who have played his tracks at festivals such as Verknipt
