This is a preview of a track that was inspired by a conversation I heard between a group discussing 'work' they had  done. I exaggerated it for impact.  Thanks for listening.

On the day I turned 30, I decided I didn’t just want to celebrate a birthday — I wanted to make a statement. That’s why I dropped the biggest song of my career, Dope Fiend.

This track is everything I’ve been building toward: a chaotic mix of alternative rock and rap, driven by shredding guitars and raw energy, but also wrapped in a surreal, modern edge that feels like the future of alt music. Think heavy riffs colliding with hypnotic grooves — something that feels nostalgic and brand new at the same time.

But what really makes this song stand apart is that it marks my first industry feature — Darkrose, a major artist who I’ve respected for years and now had the honor of collaborating with. Chalk that up also with a verse from Crimson REd and we in there!! — on my 30th birthday, no less — making this release more than just another track. It’s a milestone.

Dope Fiend is reckless, addictive, and unapologetically loud. It’s the kind of song that doesn’t fit neatly into playlists, because it wasn’t made to. It was made to cut through the noise. This is the record that defines where I’ve been, and where I’m going next.

“Askya” is the opening track from 8 by Laxá & Heima Kvartett — a post-rock collective blending Icelandic string quartet textures with guitar, bass, drums, and organ.

Inspired by the volcanic landscape of Askja in Iceland’s highlands, this piece is dedicated to guitarist Jussi Siglarson. The composition unfolds in three movements:

I. Pizzicato strings and guitar introduce the volcanic landscape.

II. Contemplative layers of bass and strings lead into Jussi’s gentle guitar theme.

III. A reggae-inspired bassline and plucked strings drive urgency before the quartet returns, lifting the track to a cinematic close.

The track opens with a haunting reinterpretation of the folk refrain “Down in the valley…” delivered in a rare, resonant low vocal, paired with hollow wind that feels like a broken transmission through an old radio. From there, the song builds into a dark, minor-key arrangement where vocals climb into plaintive highs, mirroring the push and pull of despair and yearning.
