Skinner & Hoopz play powerful uplifting and euphoric Hard Trance. They’ve been friends since 2002, when the Hard Dance scene was at its peak. And as if by chance, they also both had SoundLab belt drive turntables which started their musical journey. That journey has been eclectic as Skinner started out mixing Drum & Bass and Garage and Hoopz was more into his Trance. 

Ben’s passion for dance music started in 1994 when his sister introduced him to artists like The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Josh Wink, CJ Bolland and Orbital. From here he started a journey through the rave culture and was into all styles of Hardcore, Drum N Bass, House, and Trance.

In 2005, Ben promoted Summit and Summit Above 160 which hosted some amazing Hard Trance/House and Hardcore parties at clubs such as Soundshaft, Hidden, Club Life, The Mass, and The Light box.

For Hoopz, 2006 saw his meteoric rise to the decks where he has mesmerized crowds with his unique style and blend of Hard Dance. After meeting legendary DJ, Producer and Promoter Kevin Energy in 2006, Hoopz was taken under his wing. Establishing himself as a firm favourite with the Nu Energy Collective fans he held a 4-year residency at Kevin Energy and Sharkey's legendary night; Freeformation.

Having rocked every Hard House promotion from Brighton to Liverpool and everything in between, he is always on top form and wherever he plays leaves the crowd begging for more. 
In July 2007 he was signed to Nu Energy Collective Recording and DJ Agency with his collaboration ‘Definitions’ being released on the compilation album ‘Elevate – The Next Level’ mixed by Kevin Energy and Phil York. He also scored other studio successes with ‘Live For The Moment’ produced with production maestro; K Complex and the hard trance anthem 'Illuzionise'.

Skinner & Hoopz have played nearly every major Hard Dance event in the UK including high profile nights like Global Gathering 2007, Frantic, Polysexual, Heat, Hard South and many more. 

Together they are bringing together their vision for Hard Trance in their own production work for powerful basslines, euphoric breakdowns and vocals that will get you singing your heart out. Their latest remixes of Malice in Wonderland and Push Strange World rocked Frantic’ s 26th Birthday. 

With the promises of more fresh production work of ‘Whatever’ and ‘Try’ the duo are working hard to bring new energy to the hard dance scene.

Having mixed on Vinyl for 15 years, I decided (after a bit of a break) to go digital. There is a mixture of vinyl AND digital sets here, all of which were mixed live in front of an audience either in a club or on a live stream.
