Gatecrasher is an international clubbing brand made famous by the "Gatecrasher" (later "Crasher") dance music events, which were held at the Republic nightclub in Sheffield, UK during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The promoters of the brand were Linus Schaxmann, Simon Raine and Simon Oates and, until 2004, Scott Bond. By August 2014, the only Gatecrasher venue remaining was located in the United Kingdom city of Birmingham. This venue was closed down permanently by the authorities on 25 November 2015.

This is the mix I done on LOH radio's TGOT (The Gates Of Trance) night on the 27/02/2022. It was a night of Gatecrasher classics were I did my longest set yet, 4 hours of pure GC anthems and a few classics thrown in for good measure.

This is the first installment of a series of Gatecrasher inspired Classic Trance mixes. Gatecrasher to me personally marked the beginning of a long journey into the very deepest echelons of the genre of Dance music. 
From listening to one of my mates' CD compilations through one earphone that I was sharing of his, I was hooked on this new kind of sound I had never heard before. After hearing this I then was made aware that this was a new movement of House and Trance music, and so I had to immerse myself in the best club experience, that I have still to this day, experienced in my life. There really is no way of being able to recreate those days in the Republic, other than gaining pure nostalgia from the treasured tracks that still stand strong today. I hope you enjoy this 2 hours plus and the future Gatecrasher Experiences mixes I will be recording.

Gatecrasher Experiences Ep. 1

Here is the second installment to my Gatecrasher Experiences series. This series will be focusing on the tracks that were one of the clubbing  pioneers of the best era of dance music, known as  Gatecrasher. In this second episode in the series, I have focused more on a peak time style mix, including some of the best known tracks of Classic Trance, which also have been played at Gatecrasher events or been featured on the brand's compilations throughout the years. Here is the 3rd episode of Gatecrasher Experiences, focusing on the tracks that defined the establishment of Gatecrasher. Gatecrasher Experiences EP. 3

Hi guys here is the 4th installment of Gatecrasher Experiences. Sorry for the delay in getting this one out, but I had an accident with my laptop, which left me without it for a couple of weeks. This mix starts with a slow, chilled and deep sound, for the first hour. Exploring the more Progressive tracks that Gatecrasher would typically warm up their nights with deep tracks with a hint of a groove, to get your feet shuffling and your head nodding, allowing you to settle into the environment and to be able to have a chat and mooch about. Then we get into those typical Crasher Classics, bringing back those old memories of pure Euphoria.

Hi everyone, it feels like it’s been a while since I last posted any music. I had some nice time away on holiday. Fortunately I’m now feeling all refreshed, it’s time to get back into the music. So today, I thought I would drop Gatecrasher Experiences episode 11. In this one I have invited back Rob Kellaghan, this time to change things up, he will be taking on the Early mix, as opposed to his previous late mix, which went down very well. His mix starts with Deep, Proggy sounds which build up gradually and methodically into more uplifting territories which provides a great warm up to pass onto my Late mix, which gets into the more driving and uplifting sounds of crasher, as usual with a few rare hidden gems aswell as being well balanced with some of the more popular classics. Just under 2 years ago I recorded three seperate hours of classic Ferry Corsten for my half of our official monthly AH.FM show 'Trance Classics LIVE'. 

I've edited these into a single upload right here, cutting the show intro out and keeping them flowing as much as I could apart from a small afterhours.fm jingle between each hour.

Ferry is for me, the greatest Trance producer there was...and the sheer volume of massive anthems, whether original tracks, or remixes he has left behind is literally astounding. So many of these are simply timeless anthems that I'll take with me to my grave.

Easter brought us the return of the highly anticipated Gatecrasher Laser Unity and for some, there was no resting during that extended bank holiday weekend! Laser Unity showcased a wide assortment of trance such as progressive, uplifting, tech and psy variations synchronized to beautiful, visual extravaganza of fluorescent rays. 

I played in both rooms for around 90 minutes each. I started in the Gatecrasher REBOOTED Arena from 10:30 and despite being early, there was already quite a busy atmosphere on the dancefloor. The momentum really started to progress as each track was played. The energy levels were on full flow at that point with hands in the air action and the chanting of lyrics. Some of the biggest moments throughout this first set was dropping my latest remixes of "The Killers - Mr Brightside" and "Oakenfold - Southern Sun" which received significant attention. 

Fast forward to my 25 Year of Gatecrasher Arena set and it was full steam ahead. After a short break, I was back on the decks for another 90 minutes, showcasing some of the finest select tunage to have graced the brand. Some notable crowd pleasers included "Marino Stephano - Vision Control", "Ratty - Sunrise" and "Warrior - Warrior". 

All in all, a sensational event with two captivating sets in one link representing the authentic sound of Gatecrasher. Guaranteed to have you moving about in no time as we move closer to the Summer!

Even with all the negative press surrounding Gatecrasher over these recent months and even years, I would still frequently find myself going back and listening to one of the 26 compilations they have released over the years. Say whatever you want about them, but these compilations had some awesome tunes, which lead me to this. I hope those of you that are able to can put aside your grievances and join me on a nostalgic "member berry" infused journey of the easier clubbing days! These are MY favorite tracks included in the compilations up to the year 2007 when that unfortunate inferno occurred at S1 1DJ.
