Pretty funny session, Syl Johnson insisted on calling me "young man" throughout and is certainly a character.
I found myself dialing up Syl's guitar tone and plugging it in for him as he wasn't up for any amp fiddling. He just went with what I gave him, lucky I wasn't in a Sabbath mood. 
You got the feeling The Bamboos were understandably a little in awe of his legend status. 
They had it down pretty well though to be fair, and it turned out really sweet.

Since arriving in Melbourne Australia from the UK in 2003 I have had the pleasure of mixing many original artists live and in the studio including 12 years of live to air radio broadcast mixing & recording.

I write and perform with RPG Radio on Guitar and Vocals. I have uploaded a couple of our tunes too.

I have had the pleasure of mixing over 300 Australian and International acts live to air and pre-recorded for PBS 106.7FM including:
(Excuse me as I shamelessly name drop a few.) 

The Audreys, Billy Bragg, The Datsuns, Arrested Development, The Drones, Lanie Lane, Dallas Frasca, Supersuckers, Muph and Plutonic, Rachel Unthank, Beasts of Bourbon, The Spoils, Midnight Wolf, Dirtbombs, The Go Set, Little Red, Mia Dyson & Chris Wilson, Charlie Parr, Tex Perkins, Clare Bowditch, Diesel, Ethan Iverson.

With PBS FM and hired independently by bands and entertainment companies I have mixed at clubs and festivals both front of house and for outside broadcast.

In the last 12 years I have also toured Theaters in Australia and New Zealand as a front of house engineer for rock and roll theater, comedy and burlesque shows.

I have also produced EP's for original artists in many different genres.

I have a Bachelor of Music Audio Engineering and Diploma of Music Performance, I teach in Music Performance, Audio Technologies and Live Sound at Victoria University.

I am committed to maximizing the potential and enjoyment of any project that I work on, and only work on projects that I believe in.
