SVLBRD - The Midnight

Reshape contains musical interpretations by Alva Noto, ASC, bvdub, Warmth, Markus Guentner, Simone Giudice, zakè and Głós. The works are related to original pieces from Joachim Spieth's past creative phase and thus form a musical conclusion to the 15th label anniversary of Affin.

Reshape is released as 2 x 12" vinyl album and digital formats. All tracks were mastered at Artefacts Mastering Studio in Berlin. The graphic design was realized by Markus Guentner.

ll tracks on this album were created using analogue media, tape loops, and non-musical noises. Tape and vinyl defects become elements of the composition here. In the modern digital era, people are losing touch with tangible reality and living nature, plunging into an artificial, synthetic, and virtual environment. The naturalness and uniqueness of simple things are becoming rarities.

This album was first released on Élan Vital Recordings on September 1, 2021, then was re-released on Rhymes Music in 2022, and now, slightly reworked (brought to perfection), is finally coming out on Chitra Records.

DARK AMBIENT - MIYAKI-JIMA

I'm a big fan of the TV show Nip/Tuck. There was a piece of ambient music made by the shows composer James S Levine, that featured in the more emotional scenes throughout the series. It never got an official release on any of the soundtracks, so I have edited and re-composed the track, trying to take as few personal liberties as possible, to recreate it. Obviously due to the nature of the source (aka direct from the DVD, with only about 50 seconds or so of material to work with) don't expect this to be 100% perfect, but as it stands, it's still quite a beautiful piece of music, that is perfect for looping anyway.

You'll definitely hear the Aphex Twin influence (it's effectively Rhubarb's twin brother)so fans of lush, emotive ambient music should be well at home with this.
