Dawl est co-fondateur, avec son ami Sween, du label Tone Dropout qui sort des tracks de techno old school, d’electro, d’acid, de jungle, de breakbeat et de breakbeat hardcore. 

En tant que producteur, Dawl a sorti des tracks sur une tripotée d’autres labels, comme par exemple Amen Brother, Art Aud et sa série Secret Rave, ou encore l’excellent Craigie Knowes, autant dire qu’il y a du niveau.

Son mix est à l’image de l’Angleterre qu’on aime, un hommage à la créativité débridée et incessante de nos amis d’outre-Manche.

@djspit030 is a hybrid master. His eclectic sounds draw from a wide spectrum that takes in drill, ghetto house and drum & bass. In that regard, he is at the forefront of a new rave sound that is high energy and often extreme. His label Rascals Records represents that as does his own music on shows for Rinse FM, the sets he plays at places like Berghain’s Säule and on the Explorers podcast he runs as a means of investigating contemporary club sounds. 

In the mix for us this week he invites us deep into a world of elastic rhythm and funky drum patterns. The tunes he reaches for are often stripped back and sleek but always high impact, with plenty of sci-fi motifs and cavernous, otherworldly atmospheres. He calls his sound "twisted future bounce" and we couldn't put it better.

We have been tracking these two interstellar engineers since they first came onto the scene in 2020, catching a glimpse of their smasher "Bandit" from Muted Noises on Node's Gated Recordings. Now two years, 4 EPs & an album later they have established their dreamy electronics combined with ravey acid as their signature sound and this episode is no different with plenty of unreleased goodness to admire.

Dart Echo's mix series kicks off with Rings Around Saturn (@rdjm0). Notorious for idiosyncrasy, experimentation, and a wide breadth of taste and knowledge, Rory McPike's 2020 releases saw him jump from fizzing electro on Pure Space to low-ride, dubbed-out bass on Modern Hypnosis. 

His Dart Echo mix is evidence that no genre is safe from the Melbourne stalwart: the journey paces beautifully through the bubbling groove of tech and deep-house with highlights from Galcher Lustwerk and Loraine James and Le3 bLACK. Cognisant of the global predicament, McPike expertly expresses how we're feeling, delivering a mix equally apt for a socially-bubbled lounge-room boogie or a solitary plunge into headphone-headspace.
