Oldskool House Classics Mix 41

Black Light Disco barged its way back onto the myhouseradio.fm airwaves like a shop-a-holic made of elbows trying to navigate the winter sales in a department store.

Taking their seats in the BLD Towers 360 Cinema experience, Pookie Knights are the hosts for this week's show - lacing the first hour with disco juice straight from the funk coconut. 

Joining the Pookie Knights boys for the second hour, we have a special guest slot from Mascott! 

Mascott are DJ and Production tag team from Manchester, UK. Born in 2020, the duo of Matt & Scott are known for their ability of blending disco, house and their love of acid, which has given them a reputation of bringing energy to any dance floor.   
 
2021 has been a busy year for them as it saw the growth of their own night Good Custard, take off which has seen them host their summer ‘Disco Day Party’ series as well as their forthcoming club night ‘Basement Boogieland’ in Manchester. 
 
In just over a year they have supported some big names in the scene including Alan Dixon, Plastician, Birdee and Risk Assessment. The hectic summer of 2021 for the pair has not only seen them play their debut festival Summertime Live, but has made the duo familiar faces at many of Manchester’s notorious venues including; YES!, Kable, Brickhouse Social & Hatch. 
 
Their debut release ‘Ron Hardy’ was out earlier this year which was followed up by their piano house record ‘Graft’ on Kookee Records. In 2022, the pair have plenty more to come with their first EP ‘Never Gonna Be’ released on Moiss Black and forthcoming Disco/House releases on Moiss Music, Hot Groovers and Soulful Evolution as well as an Acid House EP on Hot Dog Recordings, they are both looking forward to what the future holds.

We're delighted to give these lads their BLD debut and know you're gonna be mighty impressed!

Dirty Disco Stars started this story in 2013 with debut EP "Love Tonight" on Disco Bomb. Featuring 2 disco house tracks, this EP set course for releases to come.

Disco/Funk music of the early 80's is the main influence that can be heard in almost every track produced by Dirty Disco Stars. That Funk mode was "ON" when his single FUSE was released on Soulshift music.

The sound of Dirty Disco Stars is always evolving, from sun kissed nu disco beach tunes, to the hot smoking jackin beats.

Then comes the "emby" era, that resulted in two of his biggest singles to date for DDS: "Shine" and "Coming Home(DDS Remix".

With releases on notroious labels such as Nervous, NoDefinition, Cruise Music, Material, CRMS, Starwalk Records, Mood funk its no wonder he reached #46 on Traxsource Top 100 Jackin' Artist for 2021!

DJ on a Mission to find the best House Music of all time - Accumulated over 300'000 plays on Mixcloud with a collection of over 100 mixes which i'm now uploading here, hope you enjoy :) 

Started Djing back in 1996 at my local nightclub called The Zone playing warm up sets which led to a long running Friday Night Residency alongside SGR / VIBE FM Dance shows Busta Brooker and Joe T at Club Valentino's in Colchester. Had a show on pirate radio and became a regular of two of the areas best club nights; S.I.N and Inspired Records. Worked two seasons in Aiya Napa in 2005/06 where i played various bars including Cocoa, Napa Dreams, Buzz Bar, Cosmapol and Nissi Beach. Early influences came from 3 local Dj's - Rossi & EZT for their amazing mixing skills and Busta Brooker for always playing the best tunes. Djing took a back seat while i went travelling and then starting a family but keeping the flame alive through Soundcloud / Mixcloud so many thanks for listening and all your lovely favourites, shares and comments, always appreciated ❤️
