Was a little remix I put together in 2006, found it buried in my projects and felt like uploading with a little mastering done. Bass line structure is different than the original song to explore how different bass lines can support the same melodies and harmonies.

Half the worlds in New Super Mario Bros. DS happen to have unique overworld themes, so I figured it'd be neat to explore the concept of creating unique overworld themes for the remaining worlds that lacked them. These themes typically take some vague amount of inspiration from similar themes that may exist in other games, mainly focusing on the New Super Mario Bros. series.

Some noteworthy inspirations, particularly in terms of the melodies:
- The marimba/xylophone part was loosely based on World 4's world map theme, although not directly used as a leitmotif.
- The main melody is inspired by (and is meant to serve as a predecessor to) New Super Mario Bros. Wii's forest overworld theme.

Some noteworthy inspirations, particularly in terms of the melodies:
- The general feel of the track is inspired by New Super Mario Bros. Wii's Snow Overworld theme, as well as Super Mario 64's Snowman's Land
- Additionally, the second section's melody is heavily based on part of Snowman's Land's melody.

DS happen to have unique overworld themes, so I figured it'd be neat to explore the concept of creating unique overworld themes for the remaining worlds that lacked them. These themes typically take some vague amount of inspiration from similar themes that may exist in other games, mainly focusing on the New Super Mario Bros. series.

Some noteworthy inspirations, particularly in terms of the melodies:
- Seeing as the New Super Mario Bros. series has, to my knowledge, never had an original mountain/canyon overworld theme, I mainly based it on the world map theme, as well as drawing general inspiration from the concept behind the levels themselves.
- Being the first of the tracks I've made, I wasn't particularly daring enough yet to compose completely original melodies for this one, so I instead opted to rearrange the melodies found in the game's main theme.

- In terms of its general atmosphere, I took a lot of inspiration from the Sky world map themes from both New Super Mario Bros. DS and Wii's soundtracks, as well as the general happy and bouncy feel of the games' Athletic themes.
- The melodies themselves are once again reworked renditions of the main theme's melodies, made to (hopefully) fit the more bouncy aesthetic, as well as being a nod to the fact that these stages generally used the athletic and main overworld themes in the original game.
