Vick Lavender & Steven Stewart started Sophisticado Recordings in 2008 with the intent of making soulful house music a genre that music lovers respected and loved.
After the success of records like "Afterparty for two" featuring RJ Green, "Vaporizer" also featuring  RJ Green,( with was used in worldwide jeep wrangler commercial)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzBrvLE0BD8 & "First kiss" featuring Carla Prather the world came calling a DJ as well as producer/arranger Vick Lavender has played in South Africa where he has a healthy following, Toronto, The UK with DR Bob Jones & Colin Curtis, New York's legendary ( Club Love )  & Atlanta with respected soulful house music producer Kai Alce @ the famed sound table!
In 2011 with guidance and help from legendary producer/DJ New York native Joe Clausell Sophisticado Recordings launched Sophisticado vinyl, with the 1st release being Monodeluxe featuring  Jaidene Veda "Changes" (The Sophisticado remixes ) followed up with physical releases of Deep Xcape's  "after da rain" , The Sophiasticado classic The L.O.V.E song (from Chicago to New York) &  "Let it go" which was originally written by Vick Lavender along with Detroit's finest super producer PirannahHead & songstress Diviniti   introducing Vick Lavender & Sophisticado Recordings to an entire new audience. Now the 2nd EP "Architect" is slated to be released in Oct 2015 only in physical form ( CD & Vinyl ) with the 1st full length LP being released in South Africa via Universal Vick Lavender continues to push the boundaries of what's considered soulful house music  but still true to his jazz/fusion roots.
