Urbana’s 2011 Ibiza offering comes later in the season than most, giving it enough time to absorb this season’s vibes and perfectly distil the spirit of the island. Label boss David Penn draws on tracks heavily influenced by the white isle in order to create the perfect audio companion to any Balearic jaunt. 

The compilation features reams of upfront material from the Spanish label including an exclusive appearance of David Penn & Mr Vasovski ‘You Are The One’ and also DJ Chus & David Penn ‘Will I (Discover Love)’ (Matthew Codek Remix), offering an upfront peak at the forthcoming remix package of this classic 2004 track. There is Rober Gaez’s exclusive re-edit of David’s remix of River Ocean ‘Love & Happiness’, exclusive new tracks from the likes of Matthew Codek and David Herrero & Christian Dehugo, plus new remixes of recent DJ Chus & David Herrero single ‘Nicaragua’ and the classic David Penn ‘Scream 4 Love’. To round off the package there is a bonus mix from David providing the perfect Urbana soundtrack to summer on the white isle and beyond.

Some artists come with a pedigree that most can only dream of.  Harry 'Choo Choo' Romero is one such artist and we couldn't be happier to have him as part of the I'm A House Gangster family.  Harry has been at the top of his game for more than 15 years - as one of the founding fathers and most prolific artists on Subliminal Records he has raised the bar for prime time dance floor anthems again and again.  From his monster club hits ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ (also a top 40 crossover hit on the UK pop charts), ‘Night at the Black’, and ‘Tania’, to his remixes for Maroon 5, Korn, and Basement Jaxx, the accolades have poured in as Harry continues to push the sound of House forward.

The majority of Harry's output continues to be released on Subliminal and it's sister labels, so the I'm A House Gangster appearance is a rare outing away from home turf.  The the tracks on 'Back From Saturn' show three different sides, all representing the roots of house.  'Greens' is a jacking, filtered affair with references some of house music's links to hip hop - straight in line with chief House Gangster DJ Sneak's approach to House.  'Nasa' has a gritty synth hook that nods to both Detroit and UK acid house, while 'NYC Deep' reflects the sound of the big apple and the deep-soulful sounds of Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer et al.

We asked Harry to give us the lowdown on the project:

"For me this project is all about getting back to the basics and returning to the style of music that got me into making house music. It's about a basic groove and messing with the frequencies that makes all these tracks. There's a beauty in the simplicity of the production that gets lost in creating these big room mass appeal tracks and that's why for me it's very important to rediscover the pure and basic essence of proper house music. The premise in it's simplicity gives the DJ plenty of room to add his or her vibe to the tracks. I come from a school where we didn't just blend tracks together but we remixed on the fly. That's why it was important for me to keep parts of the canvas empty so the DJ has room to add their own stroke of the brush. Creating these tracks was really a playback of some of the experiences I have had through the years around the world. It's about recreating a special memory from yesterday and doing it in a forward approach.

"I would describe the House Gangster sound as pure groove. Not overdone. The few basic sounds the music contains is all you need to get your point across. It adheres to no formula and evokes a vibe from the days when this music was new and cutting edge. Everything is based around the beats. It's the antithesis to what is now called EDM, which is basically repackaged trance.

"What's special about this EP for me is working with Sneak because to me he has been a huge influence. Also, reacquainting myself with an audience that has done so much for me. HOUSE MUSIC FOR EVER!"
