DJ and producer Yumho doesn’t just make tracks, he crafts experiences. The kind that speak to both body and soul. The kind that bring you, without warning, to that perfect moment where everything aligns and house music becomes a universal language.
Born in Marseille, Yumho grew up between the sea and stacks of vinyl. From an early age, he was drawn to the pulse of music. But one life-changing encounter gave his passion a deeper purpose: Did Virgo, a key figure of Marseille’s underground scene, founder of Virgo Music, and a legendary 90s record store owner. It was through Did Virgo that Yumho discovered the very essence of house and techno, digging through original pressings from Chicago, Detroit, New York. Many of them rare gems you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
It was in that record collection that Yumho’s musical education truly began: learning to dig deep, to listen with his heart, to feel what truly moves a dancefloor — and more importantly, what touches the soul.
This was more than just a technical apprenticeship. It was a cultural transmission. A culture of resistance, inclusion, and raw, honest energy. Yumho was transformed by it. In the early 2010s, he began to DJ, to produce, to search for that elusive invisible vibration that connects people. The collective frequency that turns a party into something spiritual.
His first major step was under the alias Amevicious, with releases on the cult French label La dame Noir Records, where he collaborated with Phred Noir. The project gained recognition, but Yumho felt the need to fully embody his own artistic identity. One that reflected his roots, his story, his vision.
That vision would come to life in 2022, after the pandemic, a moment of rebirth for many. For Yumho, it was time to create music that served as the soundtrack of his own culture. A sound deeply shaped by his years behind the decks, his deep emotional connection to the music, and his understanding of what makes a club night unforgettable.
Through his productions and DJ sets, Yumho is always chasing that rare moment when the party becomes a ritual, and the mix becomes a story. His influences — Troxler, Jones, Louis, Hood — are there, but they’re never the point. For Yumho, it’s always about one thing: emotion. That invisible thread connecting the history of house to the present moment. The thing that makes a record last. That makes a night unforgettable. That allows a DJ to, in his own way, bring people home.
