British producer wAFF has been making waves in recent years, reflecting on a diligent 2015 spent playing across the likes of Europe, Africa, Asia and the States, when not making routine appearances at Paradise, Ibiza. As a producer he’s dropped several lauded releases on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint, not to mention Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour and Sven Väth’s Cocoon, with his next outing landing on renowned Swedish label Drumcode run by techno titan Adam Beyer.

Laying down hard hitting kicks from the off, ‘Holographic’ churns out an undulating synth combined with shuffling hats and a cavernous low-end, before ‘VibrationZ’ employs a low-slung groove fashioned from a sultry bassline, floating chords and sinister vocal. Tying it together, ‘Syncronistic’ is on a more heads down tip with whirring atmospherics, crunchy snares and subtle 303 squelches for a lengthy and mesmerising piece of production.

With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.
 
Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Just This’ first Various Artists aims to the research of a mix of sounds by producers from different countries, to a journey into a variegated world. Melancholic vibes, deep ambient atmospheres. 
The EP is composed by three tracks. The first one, Perù, is a fine production born from the collaboration between Tom Trago and Pisetzky, a blowing wind from overseas, a shiny path into a flashing jungle, a merge of their different styles that combine in a magic theme. 
Mondo8 by Eduardo De La Calle is a constant beat that hits straight to the point with an hypnotic melody and raw vibe. 
To wrap things up Kelpe expressed his own unique unclassified genre with Dry Riser, it grabs you into an unspringy flow bringing the listener to a vintage ambient atmospheres.

De Man Zonder Schaduw aka Man With No Shadow is a Dutch producer who started his DJ career throwing infamous GZG parties, which lead to a residency at the globally recognised Sensation where he played to festival sized crowds at arena events.  This new release features original material from him, follows previous EP’s on ALiVE, many will recognise from his seminal releases on Shinedoe’s label Intacto Records. 

The first track on the release titled “Black Tulip” is our Debut Transmission and has thick bass stabs, snare rolls and rising pads that build with energy until the tracks main bassline hits with devastating force. Complimented with a simple melody synth it’s not long before the bass stabs return and this dancefloor focused monster hits its crescendo.

Canadian label Eternal Drive makes a statement before a well earned break following a string of releases featuring artists like Audio Injection, Flug, Alex Bau, Subjected, Brendon Moeller and Luis Flores amongst many others.

Making their debut by way of collaboration on the labels fourteenth release are Ninna V from Portugal and Virulent in the USA. Solo productions on the likes of Illegal Alien, Naked Lunch, !Organism, Rheostatus and Ill Bomb Records to name a few, have put these two firmly on the map.

We are proud to present you our 60th release. For this release we have Erly Tepshi making his debut on our label with a stunning 4 track solo EP. We can easily say this is one of our favorite releases we did so far.
We are nothing but impressed about the quality of these 4 tracks. 

Erly Tepshi was born in 1988, in Tirana. He moves to Italy at the age of 2. Since he was a young child he started discovering music through Rock and Metal. 
At the age of 16 year he got introduced to the world of electronic music by going to parties and clubs. After that experience he wanted to begin a career as a dj. Just 2 years later after a friend introduced him in the world of making your own music. That's when Erly decided to put for the first time his hands on analogue machines and software instruments. 
His background brings him to melodic atmospheres and synths with always a dark fog around and a melancholic space. His productions spaces from the dark Techno to the brightness of melodic electronic music.

Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann reunite for the second part of their Elements series next month with ‘Humano’, which will be released through Senso Sounds on Friday 2nd September.

The single prefaces the pair’s ‘Retrospectivo’ album, which is due later this year, and is a tough, tight and driving slice of techno that will ignite dancefloors.

Techno two-piece Slam (Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle) bring the new double vinyl album Machine Cut Noise to the forefront next month Stuart and Orde's day-to-day proceedings consist of maximum time spent on the road, in airports and hotels; which also forms the creative hub for their music-making. It's this transitory state that largely dominates the vibe on Machine Cut Noise.

With each of the album's eleven tracks handed its own unique energy, this concept is probably depicted most prevalently in "Psalm". There is a deep emotional core found within this programmed 7.5-minute piece. It conjures a direction that 'has been paved by the machines which surround us'. A technophile's voyage into the unknown we strongly recommend getting on board with.

Machine Cut Noise comes out on 28th October on Slam's own Soma Records.

Detroit Swindle - Circular city (Original Mix)

Jason Kendig has turned in a remix for Beesmunt Soundsystem’s ‘Sensual Works’ EP, which is due for release via Honey Soundsystem Records (aka HNYTRX) on Wednesday 12th October. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of the rework above.

Kendig is one quarter of Honey Soundsystem, alongside Jackie House, Josh Cheon and Robot Yang, and the San Franciscan collective have been on fire this year, opening Block9’s Genosys stage at Glastonbury in June, as well as spinning at Circoloco at DC-10 and more through the summer.

For Honey Soundsystem Records’ last 12” release of 2016, they have enlisted David and Luigi of Amsterdam’s Beesmunt Soundsystem with their ‘Sensual Works’ EP, with Kendig reworking the title track into a no-nonsense thumper with a heart of gold.

Speaking about the remix, Kendig told DJ Mag, “I wanted to respect the subtleties of the original, but still keep you locked into a hypnotic groove that keeps elevating before you realize you've already left the ground.”

And while their titles resonate with meaning, their rolling techno sounds sooth with physical healing.
