Label owner, Cerillo, throws down something special here, perfect for the peak of the Ibiza season.

‘Dimension’ builds with a friendly piano and chorded stab structure, which filters in elegantly, and develops into an original melody. The track arrives at a nice organ solo on the breakdown, and without losing its energy, builds quickly back to an almighty drop.

The track is awash with atmospheric pads and strings, and is equipped with Cerillo’s signature thump on the low end, guaranteed to deliver some dancefloor vibes!

‘Atmosphere’ gets straight down to business with it’s repetitive techy, yet housey, chord formation. There is, however, plenty in here to keep things interesting. More chords and stabs follow suit, building toward a switch up on it’s first break - which will definitely create a hands in the air moment!

Acid lines and a spoken female vocal ensue, making this either a great peak-time tool, or late warm-up - depending on the setting, of course.

Cerillo - Atmosphere [MBR015] [Matchbox]

Breath-taking from the get go, the lead track West Coast Style truly packs a punch with its hypnotic, raw, dynamic bassline leading the energy of the track with the accompanying enforcing vocal samples letting you now know that this is what ‘west coast style’ really is, whilst the elemental and spacious synth melodies and stabs that surrounds the bassline emits a spellbinding vibrancy that leaves you with further intrigue and mystery.

DJOKO captures this intrigue and mystery that lingers in the original version and reimagines it into this beautiful, heavenly, minimal yet deeply intense remix that gives you this rhapsodic euphoria like you are floating in place whilst joyously raving to its soothing yet melodic structure and depth.

Carrying on this primal, commanding sound from Klein, he concludes the release with another compelling original production entitled 808. Featuring a few TR-808 drum samples with the production, its infectious and captivating groove go hand-in-hand with the bumping and swinging bassline and creamy synth stabs that flow ever so perfectly in tandem.

Cerillo’s Matchbox imprint drops it’s third release and they are really finding their feet with this one. This time around he’s recruited fellow Dubliner - Andrew Azara of Rendr Records fame who’s gaining top tier support at the moment from the likes of the PIV crew, and also Jack Swift - who’s tight discography has seen his releases on Madtech Records and Inermu garner the attention of Chris Stussy, Toman, Prunk and Seb Zito.

We kick off with “Ember” - it’s a little deeper from Cerillo’s usual stuff but packs layers of nice pads and sounds which build nicely towards an unmistakably addictive Trance-esque lead. It still packs his signature jacking hat and thumping kick/bassline arrangement.

PREMIERE: Cerillo - Ember [Matchbox]

Australian pairing Somersault and It Bends combine this May to deliver ‘Back Again’ on Madtech Records.
Melbourne-based DJ and producer Somersault emerged onto the scene in 2019, making his mark as an artist on the up with releases via the likes of Blind Vision, Rawsome and Madtech Records and gaining support from artists including Archie Hamilton, Prunk, Ben Rau and DJOKO. A regular at Australia’s most notable nights and venues including Revolver Upstairs, S.A.S.H. and Goodbar, his take on house music has welcomed explorations into various pockets of the genre to date, and this is on display once again here as he combines with vocalist, It Bends. Born in Wollongong, but now based in Mexico City, the singer, songwriter and producer’s previous material falls right across the electronic spectrum, and here the pairing combine for the very first time this May to deliver the classy ‘Back Again’ on Madtech records.
Offering two alternative versions of ‘Back Again’, the ‘Sparkling Version’ unveils a production drenched in early UK garage and house influences, most notably via two-step drum arrangements and snaking basslines at the heart of the track, whilst the ‘Red Version’ pairs things back slightly to deliver a blossoming journey guided by rich bass, resonant chords and It Bends’ soulful yet delicate vocals.

Remix #2 comes from Andrew Azara, he’s been gaining top tier support lately from the likes of Jesse Maas, Toman and Tommy Vercetti. He’s completely flipped “Rinsed” on it’s head with his Piano Acid interpretation (complete with old-skool breakdown) and given us something sure to move the bigger rooms and festivals (on return!) alike.'
