'Kiss Full Of Funk' - the debut single from Moscow-based FREE.D - gets a re-shake from one of Europe's most sought-after remix duos this month, as German collaborators Lissat & Voltaxx go deep for the Russian's own Hidden Vibes imprint.

The original track saw FREE.D team up with synth-pop vocalist Gregory Alexander and saxophonist Egor Shamanin, of the Guru Groove Foundation. Citing Depeche Mode, Massive Attack and Underworld as influences, FREE.D also says his inspiration to work live instruments over samples comes from stories of musical legends: “One of my favourites is about Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones rockin' live at Checkerboard Lounge in 1981. You see how legends respect the live sound jamming with all possible sound sources making music alive."

Sevyn Streeter - Don't Kill The Fun (Troyboi Remix)

Ross Roberts has been developing his DJing talent across London for the past four years, regularly applying his skills at the likes of Ministry Of Sound, XOYO, Fire and Lightbox. Last summer, Roberts ventured over the White Isle to join line-ups at both Eden and the Sankeys basement, and encouraged by his ever-growing list of achievements, the Londoner is now hitting the studio too.

Drawing influence from the likes of Richy Ahmed, Steve Lawler and the latter's VIVa MUSiC label, Roberts blurs the boundary between house and tech house - always insuring he has the bounciest basslines and buckets of groove. Picking out a selection of tracks from across Europe, Roberts drops work by Grecian Detlef, Switzerland's Mirco Caruso, Italian Luca Morris and the UK's very own Darius Syrossian.
