I can't actually believe it's mixtape time again! It only seems like yesterday that 0514 dropped... Anyway, what a crazy two months it's been! 

(( This mix has dropped a few days early due to my DJ / travel schedule. It's also out just in time for your weekend! ))

Summer is now in full swing, the sun's out, Ibiza is back, the festivals have started and it's all definitely inspired me massively for 0714. 

This mixtape contains 22 tracks, spans a variety of genres/sub-genres and has to be one of my favourite mixes that I've made so far! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Got those post-weekend blues? Then wrap your lugs around our exclusive premiere from Polish producer Deas (pictured) and his partner in crime 2PM (winner of the Boxer Recordings 'Dusty Kid' Remix Contest).

Released today via Canadian label Monique Musique, the Helix EP offers up a double helping of electronic artistry. Teaming up for the title track, Deas and 2PM deliver a driving techno cut full of grit and menace. On the flip Deas takes the production solo with 'Stain Sound', where we find deep vocals and grooving percussion, perfect for warming up any dance floor.

If we mentioned the name Sam Smith to you, you’d probably think we were referring to a certain popstar with money on his mind. We’re not. We’re of course talking about British producer Sam Smith aka Monty the Fly, who is crafting the exact blend of considered and abstract house and techno that we so enjoy; the type of music that conjures up a range of contrasting emotions. In this essence, it’s hardly a surprise that he name checks the likes of Baby Ford(who, incidentally, remixed his first EP) as influences, but if we were to define it, we’d say it’s been cut from a similar cloth to the work of Bruno Pronsato, Herbert, Efdemin and Ricardo Villalobos, producers who make music to move the soul – and the soles.

With his latest EP, the stunning Free Three Ways, having just dropped on his own Nothing Odd label, we decided to nab the talents of the Bournemouth native for our Mix Of The Day series and kickstart our weekend. Mix of the Day: Monty the Fly

Following their recent 20th release from Andreas Balicki, Definition:Music push straight on to DMU021 with a serving of groove-laden house from Josh Butler.

Having made a name for himself with a couple of outings on Chase & Status' MTA Records imprint, Butler offers up new three tracks of underground house. The title track harks back to the glory days of acid house, whilst in 'Educate' and 'What I Want', the Northerner takes on deeper, more chilled vibes. All in all, the Sideways Acid EP packs in everything needed to get a dancefloor pumping.
