We like to think of ourselves of social chameleons here at Data Transmission; as at home in the glamour of Ibiza and Las Vegas as we are in a basement in Berlin. Well this week see us head to Berlin for ‘Glitz’ with an exclusive mix from Andreas Henneberg and Daniel Nitsch as The Glitz following the release their first album together, 'No Drama' on their label Voltage Musique Records.

Born in, loving and working in the pulsating German capital Andreas comes with quite a pedigree when it comes to electronic music as the founder Voltage Musique Records” in addition to being the mastermind behind the 'The Glitz' and 'Hennon' aliases as he releases on some of the scenes hottest labels with the likes of IDEAL Audio, Confused Recordings and Toolroom all housing his talents.

With 15 years experience behind the scenes Andreas is probably one of your favourite producers even if you don’t quite know it having had a hand in a plethora of classic productions from behind the scenes as as a producer, label owner, mastering-engineer and of course as a DJ. It’s his skills as the latter we’re showcasing today with his and Daniel's unique blend of sounds refusing to conform to categorisation as it’s too busy moving the dancefloor . Time to dust off the dancing shoes we think…

Mix of the Day: The Glitz

We aren’t sure what it about Germany that allows the country to produce such a high volume of quality electronic music but there surely must be something to it.  The air? The water? Well, we can neither confirm or deny any theory regarding why the area is such a hotbed of creativity for electronica but rather revel in Germanic cool. This weeks Podcast sees us head to back to the Fatherland as eclectic duo Monkey Safari serve up an hour long set of selections for your listening pleasure.

Having really hit their stride in the studio, with their many fun and scrupulously produced records earning them a nice little niche within the electronic music environs, the pairing have now set their sights on Ibiza, landing on the White Isle to take over Sankeys for Hommage alongside compatriots Super Flu May 27th, before hosting a hotly anticipated  boat party the day after. With plenty of other exciting developments in the pipeline for 2015 and beyond, the next 12 months look set to be the most exciting of the Monkey's career. We wish we could tell you more but right now all we'll say is watch this space!
