Naples-born G-Lover isn’t a new face in the underground scene. With over two decades of DJing, producing, and setting up the iconic SHAKE IT nights in his hometown, he’s a seasoned vet who knows how to move a crowd. Now, he’s stepping up on Blackflag with his most significant release yet.

The title track ‘Over’ is a hypnotic journey through vibrant soundscapes and rolling house grooves. This one’s made for those intimate club nights where the bassline hits different in the small hours. Chilanga de hueso colorado, quiero llevar mi nombre a donde vaya. Coleccionista de música desde que la tecnología lo permite; hace dos años se me presentaron las oportunidades para empezar una carrera como DJ y decidí seguir dicho camino.
Me apasiona el house, techno y sus derivados, con los cuales me gusta experimentar incluso dentro de un mismo set. Considero que la creatividad no tiene límites y que cada set debe ser un viaje.
Con mi proyecto quiero reflejar una buena curaduría de música underground de nuestro siglo, así como un estilo único para vestir.

Bio:
Despite the many weird and wonderful submissions they get from Joe Public at Data Transmission – think everything from bottles of homemade hooch to used underwear – Data Transmission freely admit that we were most surprised to receive a cassette accompanied by a polaroid photo of alphabetti spaghetti spelling out ‘I AM RON MEXICO’ in the post at the tail end of last year. Intrigued, DT dusted off their Walkman and gave the tape a listen to find that what was on offer, was, well…surprisingly good!!! They then set about finding him online, only to find that there was not a single mention of him on the internet.

Several weeks passed and having written Ron Mexico off as an elaborate prank concocted by the over active imagination of one of their many friends with far too much time on their hands, Data Transmission didn’t expect to hear from him again. Then the postman delivered a bottle of tequila every day for twelve days. A postcard then followed, with the following message inscribed in Spanish “Now you’re suitably inebriated, perhaps we can talk on Facebook”. One brief chat later, Data Transmission had arranged for Ron to come with us to burgeoning snow festival, Rise, wherein we’d meet the mysterious selector in the flesh for the first time. His rider, predictably contained a variety of mescal, alongside “1 semi-inflated inflatable shark, a frozen banana and a copy of the Karate Kid on VHS”. The time in the French Alps with a masked Ron was fleeting and having ingested what we’d consider a potentially lethal amount of Mexican spirits, Ron Mexico left as much of an enigma as he’d arrived.

6 years on and Ron Mexico became the selector of all music for Data Transmission

After some gentle coaxing and assurances by Hobbs (UK) that he wouldn’t bring any “cameras or cops” ‘Ron’ instructed him to meet him at London’s St. Katharine’s Dock at 10.47 AM precisely with the promise he’d see him. And see him he did. Arriving by jetski, the still masked Mr. Mexico disembarked on to a pontoon wherein they set about creating 'Scolarisé à Domicile'.
