Strength in unity is what is shown here by the Steyeyoke crew, as they follow up the success of Family Affair Vol.1 with another bundle of tracks that warrant their passion for making top notch house music. Family Affair Vol.2 features 7 remixes from the Steyoyoke artists on some of the labels most popular originals to have been released over the last few months.
The first remix pairs two of the labels most accomplished artists together. Dahu leaves Soul Buttonʼs enigmatic ʻCome To Meʼ hypnotised by a powerful bassline. Teasing hi-hats and charged synth work that sways from left to right starts the Steyoyoke Family Affair show with a bang.

It was during a vision-quest to Joshua Tree where Jonnie King and Josh Royse molded their brotherhood through spirituality and music.  Shortly after, Jonnie started working with fellow producer Johnny Reyes to form the early stages of AENOIX.  The two received world-wide support from Lee Burridge on their first record, as well as capturing the mind of Robot Heart's Jason Swamy, who encouraged the buys to record their debut LP at his maiden Further Future festival.  With this, the soundscapes of AEONIX were born.

After their successful Further Future debut (of which, Pulse Radio had mentioned AEONIX as "1 of the Top 10 Acts to See at Further Future"), we exclusively premiere their track "A Star Was Born Feat. Superfriends is the new label from Andhim; a label that captures the pair’s charm and ebullience, not only from their past releases but also serves as a stylistic trajectory to date; one that has moved from gentle eclecticism through infinite fun into a refined and contagiously unique electronic sound.

Andhim have over the last decade cultivated an exceptionally loyal fan base of musical lovers and peers alike; that continue to crave the German pairs musical agility and action packed forays.

Superfriends is far from a obvious tick in andhim’s career “to do list” but a strong clue that they are capably poised to continue their anti-intellectualism approach to everything they do.

The international colours of andhim continue to reach all corners of the dance floor focusing less on the narrative and more on the big and fun– Superfriends is set to be an outlet for the production/DJ duo’s most ambitious ideas. An independent exercise in only the finest studio output from themselves but those that inspire, influence and impress.

The first release “Tosch EP” is pristine in production and devoid of existing label noise, where powerfully subtle melodies can sit side by side with immersive dance floor heavy electronic music.

“Tosch EP” signals the pairs desire to remain multifaceted in approach and DIY in execution while also slowly revealing the imagination behind it. andhim - Tosch (ft. Piper Davis)

Following the success of her remix of Flight Facilities' "Two Bodies", Henri is set to release on 2nd December 2016 two infectious melodic house tracks, "Fine Day" and "I See Ice Cream".

The first track on the EP is "Fine Day" - an elegant cover of Opus III’s early 90s cult classic. Henri's version features Icelandic actress and singer Aníta Briem's hypnotic, breathy vocals, which are layered over an interweaving synth arpeggio and repetitive piano chords. It will instantly put its listeners into a blissful state of trance.

Our Debut Transmission is our pal Applebottom's remix - he is one of the UK's most respected young DJ/producers and provides a late night remix of "Fine Day" on the EP, complimenting the original with its more sparse production and deeper synth hooks. With releases on MadTech, Eton Messy, and Black Butter Records under his belt, Applebottom has garnered support for both originals and remixes, from the likes of Annie Mac and Pete Tong, and a recent stint of DJing alongside Kidnap Kid has resulted in the release of "The Ride," via Kidnap Kid's label, Birds That Fly.

Kolors is not your average compilation; the project explores the individual visual perception of color and how that compares to the unique auditory experience of music.

The 15 contributing artists have all chosen a color to define the essence of their track. The selected colors expand the traditional spectrum with on-point specifics like ‘Matt Silver,’ ‘Lunar White’ and ‘Mint Green’. Regardless how many adjectives used, everyone will see these colors differently, and that is exactly the point! The experience of colors, like music, is subjective.

The project’s rich concept adds layered depth and gives listeners an expanded auditory experience. The colors are well considered and one hears the artistic intention behind the labeling.

In a profoundly personal, artistic revelation artists also provided the reasoning behind their selection, evoking instant imagery and placing listeners in the mind of the musician. Of their track, ‘Lunar White’, John Charnis & Jimmy Maheras said, “When we wrote the song the melodies reminded us of the moments in a dark dance floor where people's faces were illuminated, whether by strobe lights and lasers, or the glow of the moon in an outdoor party.” That visual association becomes abundantly clear when one listens to the corresponding music. On ‘Fuchsia’ Dance Spirit say, “’Fuchsia’ is the color of universal harmony and emotional balance and helps to create harmony and balance in every aspect of life. That is what we are trying to attain through the message of this song, and our music in general.”

The album takes listeners on an oculauditory journey through time and space; from Julien Chaptal’s lush and peaceful ‘Orange’ to Doomwork’s moody and introspective ‘Midnight Blue’, the LP tells a story. Kolors features seasoned Supernature artists like Den Ishu (who also releases under Desolat and Noir), Carlos Sanchez (a young gun, blazing the industry by storm, receiving praise from industry veterans like Danny Tanaglia and Richie Hawtin) and Audiofly to name a few- but true to their standard the label focuses on emerging talent. Affirming the strength of the label’s talent pool, even the new family members deliver auditory joy in epic proportions.

New to the imprint, Balcazar & Sordo’s “Blue”, is pure tantric! The track demonstrates beautiful restraint, true energy control, feeding one deep, groovy bass line after another in perfect cadence. On the duo Maceo Plex has been quoted saying, ‘These guys are very close to writing a big hit, I can tell”. Well if they haven’t already this is probably the one. Expect to hear it across dance floors this summer.

This album invites you to experience music differently from everybody else, on your own personal terms, based on your own vision. Art is subjective, what you see may not be what I see, and that is the beauty of it. So sit back, and give it a listen... or 10, stroke your chin and ponder deeply. Unlike most dance albums, or label for that matter, Supernature and Kolors wants you to do more than dance, they want you to think and feel and groove - they want you to experience music on a whole new level.
