whip-crack electronic riffs, insistent robot vocals: Ctrls proved to 

master these sounds very well on his past EP’s and he only seems to 

perfect his skills on this 4th instalment.

Berlin based Voight Recordings are onto their seventh EP since launching in 2016, having featured the likes of Oliver Deutschmann, Flug, GoldFFinch and Hans Bouffmyhre on previous releases.

Original material this time comes from ALPI, an Italian duo who are making the right moves already putting out their accomplished sounds on Arnaud Le Texier’s Children of Tomorrow and legendary Dutch label Planet Rhythm. Also included is a quality remix from Milanese artist Wrong Assessment who is known for his M_REC LTD and Clergy contributions.

The DT:Premiere we selected is the last and digital only track “Mistaken Identity” that uses a strong broken beat funk to full effect. The haunting lead sound adds sensitivity, as it trails a hypnotic feeling alongside the droning textures to balance the powerful undertones. Energetic and engaging, this is a big one for us!

After delivering his first remix rendition a few months ago on Phobiq, Superstrobe is back with his debut EP titled “Glitch”.
The title track kicks things off right from the beginning with a grinding bassline haunted by tight hi-hats, before alarming synths take over for the final breakdown. The gears are pulled back a bit on “Flying High” with a snappy rhythm section and optimistic chords. 
Next up, “In God’s House” we are introduced to menacing stabs and metallic synths, creating an electrifying vibe throughout the track, and finally “Neverending” seals the EP with its chaotic, yet straight-forwarded techno, while never-ending mechanized chords and stomping drums provide the momentum for some serious heads-down action.

It doesn’t get much bigger than this: Adam Beyer links up with Green Velvet and Drumcode’s outstanding rising star Layton Giordani for a debut collaboration.

Some musical partnerships feel fated. Both fans of one another’s work, for years Adam Beyer and Green Velvet had discussed writing music together. In turn, Beyer’s protégé Layton Giordani had admired the Chicagoan’s work for as long as he could remember. When the 25-year-old found himself playing alongside the green mohawked legend at Belfast’s Shine, the spark and subsequent friendship was immediate. With the links now set in place, it was only a matter of time before the trio’s creative chemistry would manifest musically.

‘Space Date’ was conceived organically and birthed quickly. Propelled by Green Velvet’s trademark vocal hypnotism, the triumvirate combine to craft a pumping intergalactic slice of techno laced in melody that’s highlighted sets by Beyer at Awakenings, Ushuaia and also EDC Vegas when Green Velvet dropped it to a raucous response. The track is complimented by ‘Rome Future’, the product of a year-long series of productions between Beyer and Giordani. Deftly combining crisp drum work, catchy vocal effects and a powerful bassline melody that gives the track an almighty kick, it will be familiar to many who’ve followed their sets over recent months.
