The EP finds Hackman going full-circle of sorts. The tunes from this release were written almost five years ago, when the producer was on a totally different aesthetic tip, favoring UK funky styles over the deeper house tones that popped up on THUMP recently. "I would say this EP would have fit better within my catalogue back around 2011," Hackman tells THUMP. "That's when the tracks were originally written and signed to Halocyan, but I'm at the point now where I'm starting to write a bit harder, more dance floor driven music, so this EP is a good base to build from for this."

Mind Against Boiler Room Berlin DJ Set

DJ turned producer/remixer Alcala (aka Daniel Alcala) first gained notoriety as the two-time winner of the prestigious Avalon & Satellite Records DJ mix contest in Boston (in 2004 and 2005), which led to coveted opening DJ slots for electronic music powerhouses like Fake Blood, Matt Darey, Viceroy and Yolanda Be Cool. However, it would be his energizing remixes and mash-ups for artists like Crystal Castles, Givers, Royksopp, BT, Dragonette, Nightriders and M83, that would burn up Hype Machine’s Most Popular Songs chart, galvanize the dance music illuminati and propel Alcala into the international spotlight. 

He clearly struck a chord with the global electronic dance music community and, to date, his Alcalaofficial Youtube channel has garnered over 1.5+ million views and his mix of M83's “Midnight City” received over 200,000 plays on Youtube, 30,000 plays and over 9,000 downloads on Soundcloud. It was later picked up officially by Mute records and released commercially.

Melding influences from 80’s synth-pop and electro, classic 90’s house, techno and atmospheric ambient, Dan’s sound is propulsive, heady and inescapably melodic, His long-awaited debut EP is a radiant soundtrack that effortlessly glides between sumptuous “big room” floor-filler (“What I Want”), narcotic disco sleaze (“Day By Day”), driving Latin-flavored 90’s house (“Fuego) and deep expansive tech-house (”One Of Us”) that succinctly showcase his impressive widescreen musical range and dexterity.

Earlier this year, Geoff Kirkwood revealed himself to be the producer behind the anonymous alias Man Power. The decision to unmask himself was a welcome one, finally putting an end the guessing games that were threatening to overshadow the project. Kirkwood’s music is good enough to stand on its own without all the smoke and mirrors. 

In the past year, the Berlin-based producer has put out two excellent EPs on Throne of Blood and Not An Animal Records. He’s bringing 2015 to a close with one final release, ‘Ruthven’, for London’s Voyeurhythm.

We’re pleased to be able to premiere the A-side, a cut of acidic, hissing techno with a soaring synth backing.

PREMIERE: Man Power 'Ruthven’

Off the back of his debut Arc EP, Kamera's second voyage on Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound label continues to expand his "visionary take on modern electronica." It comes in the form of Ventoux – a four-track EP reflecting back on the producer's own experiences of cycling Mont Ventoux, the gruelling 'Beast of Provence' mountain range in France, and providing the name of his most concise and intriguing opus yet. Title track "Ventoux" resonates long after the closing chords have faded. It stands out in poignancy compared to the rhythmic emphasis of the three cuts surrounding it. Chiming synths sustain the melody that loops dreamily throughout, allowing yourself to momentarily drift off into the open soundscape Kamera has painted. Ventoux blends the physical and cerebral with ease, in a sound that is both "refreshingly futurist, yet completely timeless."

Ventoux drops on 29th January 2016.

Here's something from a few years back. The original mix didn't get played out as much as the "coup d'etat" version. I'm guessing it was because there are too many chords for a dance track. So here's a drumless version that, I'm sure, will get even less plays.

You know how some people wish it could be Christmas everyday? Well we wish every Thursday could begin with fresh material from DT favourites Jacob Bellens and Abstraxion. Well guess what? Today is our lucky day as hafendisko have shared  Abstraxtion's new remix of the Danish singer's album cut 'Polyester Skin' with us as this morning's opening Debut Transmission.

Arriving hot on the heels of the release of his first single from his upcoming long player on hfn music,  the remix is one of a number of killer reworks Bellens has pulled together, with Tuff City Kids and Man Power also stepping up to apply their sonic signature to 'Polyester Skin'.

Set to arrive December 11th, you can check out Abstraxion's slinky, groove rich reinterpretation below - although prepare to have it on repeat; we've struggled to get it out of heads or off of our system all morning!

Illustrious female producer Davina is set to unveil her cultivated four track ‘Jungle Chic EP’ on leading label Hot Creations under new alias Davina Moss.

Davina Moss is the deep / tech house project of Davina, an artist who has spanned the far corners of house, electro, techno and minimal, releasing over 200 tracks as well as producing numerous albums and mix compilations. In 2013 she found her way onto Hot Creation sub-label Hot Trax with the dynamic two tracker ‘9 Weeks’. Two years on and the ‘Jungle Chic EP’ is an accomplished edition to the Hot Creations catalogue under her new alias. The violin creates an atmosphere of anxiety, agitation and emptiness of the composition. But at the same time, we can clearly observe depth, independence and freedom in it. The sounding periodically becomes a technogenic mass, sometimes it contains motifs of ancient Persia. 
According to the artist, he was inspired by sense of loneliness, hopelessness and splashes of freedom.

The whole team of musicians, actors and artists was working with this album. JohnLaMonica has added his rich voice in the album. Philip Saulin from "Synergy Orchestra" gave us full color and atmosphere with the help of the violin and strings. He also provides a visual picture of what is happening around us. The author of the song Jesu Song is Sergei Verhovski. 
Graciela Maria and Robot Koch were also working with compositions. 
Bedouin is a person who leads a nomadic way of life regardless of his nationality and religion. The freedom and independence. That is the philosophy the author wanted to show.
