Where North meets South....UK based DJ & production duo James Callaghan & Jason Hodges collectively known as Lost On Mars join the Saved Records family this summer with their brand new, 'Perkers' EP. When you combine the energy these two have along with their talent behind the decks expect nothing less than a riot on the dancefloor. On the production side of things, this dynamic duo combine elements of Tech House, Deep Tech, Breakbeat, Rave & Techno with a groove laden sound that showcases big basslines and layers upon layers of percussion. Following up his 2017 debut ‘Halo’ EP on Saved, we’re welcoming Italian DJ and producer, Simone Liberali back to the label this month with his brand new ‘Landslide’ EP. His music – distinguished for its powerful, percussive and playful sound, has found homes on labels including Incorrect, NONSTOP, elrow, Material and AVOTRE as well as seeing him tour the world and play in renowned clubs across the globe including Egg London, elrow Barcelona and Pacha & Sankeys in Ibiza. Lead track ‘Landslide’ kicks things off with percussive drums and mesmerizing atmospherics whilst Jinadu’s soulful, soothing vocals offer a memorable hook which is at once uplifting and enchanting yet tinged with a beautiful melancholy. ‘Discordia’ closes out the EP, a playful loop-driven groove with a bouncing bassline, shuffling snares, warped synths and vocal chants that ebb and flow throughout the composition.

New York talent David Berrie brings his unique house music vision to the Play It Say It label, rounding out their year in true style. Berrie started sneaking into New York clubs in his early teens and has been
deeply entrenched in the scene ever since. From hip hop to disco to techno, he brings a wide spectrum of sounds to his productions, which have come on HotCreations and Cuttin Headz before now, as well as Play It Say It. After a big residency at DC10 in Ibiza this summer, he now impresses once again on the production front. It is ‘Inhibition’ that opens up with a slick sci-fi groove and taught bass that is
perfectly bumping. It’s an occult atmosphere for late night dancing and the Twilight Mix is layered up with mind-melting cosmic synths that take it even deeper. ‘Cherry Bomb’ is another minimal house masterpiece, with slick drum rhythms and underlapping bass all making for a supple and succulent groove that gets you in a state of hypnosis. Last of all is the punchy ‘Buchabeats’ which has stylish jazz chords and garage percussion all run through with freaky vocal samples and trippy little effects. This fantastic final release brings Play It Say It’s 2019 to a close with typically.
