In December of 2022, with Turbo Recordings nearing the cusp of its 25th year, label Owner, Founder and Executive Vision Honcho Tiga sent out an urgent missive to friends and collaborators across the globe:

"SEND ME ONE AWESOME TRACK AND LETS GET RICH BABYCAKES. SEND ME FILLER AND YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT INFO GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE TURBO DISCORD SO YOU CAN ‘CONNECT' WITH OUR FANS.”

This brazen threat spoke to the hearts of some of dance music’s greatest talents, who within days gathered outside Tiga’s Montreal fortress carrying thumb drives bursting with melody, rhythm, and more than a little timbre. Now, after months of brutal attrition and line-crossing personal rejection, we are proud to present you with the very best of the best. 

While the mere mention of a label compilation is enough to get anyone’s imagination rock-hard, just consider some of the names involved. From legends like Soulwax (as 2manydjs), Matias Aguayo, Jori Hulkkonen, The Hacker, Seth Troxler, and Audion to modern masters like Cora Novoa, Disfreq, Nikki Nair, Fedele, Mathame (and many more), Turbo 25 spans soundscapery from the label’s rich past, rich present, and VR-heavy future. It stands as an unqualified triumph of networking, goodwill toward men, and Dropbox.

As Turbo Recordings joins the long-lived ranks of Northrop Grumman, the Carlyle Group, and HSBC Malta, this corporate anniversary presents an opportunity for reflection, a chance to bask in the refractory glow before the next 25 years of our label bring about Paradise on Earth. Maybe all of this culminates with every single Turbo artist ever DJing and dancing alongside world leaders and Web3 visionaries at the Hadron Collider main stage. Maybe it’s finally time to release Tiga and Manu Chao's reggaefied hip-house stomper, “Get Vertical.” Literally anything is possible.

Bonjour, Hola, Zdravstvuyte. Nǐn hǎo, Salve, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa… Wherever you 'Hale' from, this outstanding slice of techno from Japanese kindred spirits Sudo and Hito is something you're going to want to say hello to.

Sudo's return to Nicole Moudaber's MOOD since last summer's thumping 'Abstract' EP, 'Hale' sees him rolling in esteemed company as good friend and Richie Hawtin's Enter resident and MoodRAW regular, Hito, joins the fray. And what a fray it is… Tailored for the silly season ahead, 'Hale' is a super-charged roller laced with a rainbow of salutations and powerful harmonics that loop and twist in a similar immersive and addictive fashion to Underworld's gamechanging anthem 'Rez'. The producer and DJ brought together both of their creative talents and 'Hale' features the voices of various friends from all over the world celebrating the Japanese spirit for global diversity.

Remix-wise we remain in the land of the rising sun as Japanese techno OG Ken Ishii lays down two superb versions; one that makes amazing creative use of the global 'hello' montage in a real fun and funky way, and one that strips things back to the bare rhythmic bone. Finally we head to Montreal as Johnny Trika follows up his recent appearance on Hito's 'Deeperfect' collection with a much darker, pranged out twist where the bassline spirals into the ground and the vocal textures aren't all that they seem.
