Bio:
Despite the many weird and wonderful submissions they get from Joe Public at Data Transmission – think everything from bottles of homemade hooch to used underwear – Data Transmission freely admit that we were most surprised to receive a cassette accompanied by a polaroid photo of alphabetti spaghetti spelling out ‘I AM RON MEXICO’ in the post at the tail end of last year. Intrigued, DT dusted off their Walkman and gave the tape a listen to find that what was on offer, was, well…surprisingly good!!! They then set about finding him online, only to find that there was not a single mention of him on the internet.

Several weeks passed and having written Ron Mexico off as an elaborate prank concocted by the over active imagination of one of their many friends with far too much time on their hands, Data Transmission didn’t expect to hear from him again. Then the postman delivered a bottle of tequila every day for twelve days. A postcard then followed, with the following message inscribed in Spanish “Now you’re suitably inebriated, perhaps we can talk on Facebook”. One brief chat later, Data Transmission had arranged for Ron to come with us to burgeoning snow festival, Rise, wherein we’d meet the mysterious selector in the flesh for the first time. His rider, predictably contained a variety of mescal, alongside “1 semi-inflated inflatable shark, a frozen banana and a copy of the Karate Kid on VHS”. The time in the French Alps with a masked Ron was fleeting and having ingested what we’d consider a potentially lethal amount of Mexican spirits, Ron Mexico left as much of an enigma as he’d arrived.

6 years on and Ron Mexico became the selector of all music for Data Transmission

After some gentle coaxing and assurances by Hobbs (UK) that he wouldn’t bring any “cameras or cops” ‘Ron’ instructed him to meet him at London’s St. Katharine’s Dock at 10.47 AM precisely with the promise he’d see him. And see him he did. Arriving by jetski, the still masked Mr. Mexico disembarked on to a pontoon wherein they set about creating 'Scolarisé à Domicile'.

Robert Reyes (https://www.facebook.com/yaitsRob) is an established promoter in the 206, hosting and promoting events at many of Seattle’s most reputable venues.

Rob aka Rupert, aka Unknown ?layer made his ingress into the Seattle scene as a DJ June 2017. Since, he has quickly earned the trust of crowds and promoters alike. Rapidly becoming recognizable among the ranks of local djs, he prides himself on letting the music speak for itself. Scraping the far corners of the web, Rupert is locked and loaded with undiscovered sounds from all over the globe on top a growing stock pile of unreleased tracks sent to him by rising artists. Even adding his own production to the mix in recent years. With no preferred genre, he brings all sounds, tempos and energies into every set providing a unique experience each time he steps behind the decks. Combine this with a high level of technical ability he will often leave even experienced djs confused and amazed as he transitions and layers tracks that "shouldn't" work.

Rob hosts multiple nights around Seattle, Por La Cual is an open format night, curated around extensive decor, art pieces and building a community with mutual values. Hosted at Seattle's Monkey Loft every second Saturday it is well on it's way to being a beacon for people in the city looking for more than the usual club experience. Part Timers is a weekly house and techno ocurring Thursdays at Vice on Capital Hill, focused on consistently providing excellent music from the best DJs and creating community. Habitat is a seasonal weekly blooming every summer on the Monkey Loft deck. A short run, featuring deep, melodic and minimal house.
