In the depths of the Techno underground, M.F.S: Observatory is a guiding force, leading listeners on a subversive journey through techno realms. The artist, synonymous with pushing boundaries, has etched a unique identity with releases on well-respected labels like Second State, Diffuse Reality, I/AM/ME, and Kneaded Pains. Based in London, techno producer Mattia Turchetti, is the mastermind behind M.F.S: Observatory and the Observatory Music. M.F.S: Observatory thrives on raw and deep techno, showcased in the latest chapter of his journey where Mattia crafts beats live in his studio, transcending the ordinary DJ sets and giving his fans a peek into his production process. Mattia's natural style in the booth has resonated in hotspots like Sisyphos (Berlin), Barcelona, Amsterdam, Helsinki, London and Italy, transforming dancefloors into electric landscapes for the underground community to embrace hypnotic beats. Here's to the unfolding chapters of M.F.S: Observatory, an artist navigating the sonic underground with an unwavering commitment to the subversive essence of techno.

Bio:
Despite the many weird and wonderful submissions they get from Joe Public at Data Transmission – think everything from bottles of homemade hooch to used underwear – Data Transmission freely admit that we were most surprised to receive a cassette accompanied by a polaroid photo of alphabetti spaghetti spelling out ‘I AM RON MEXICO’ in the post at the tail end of last year. Intrigued, DT dusted off their Walkman and gave the tape a listen to find that what was on offer, was, well…surprisingly good!!! They then set about finding him online, only to find that there was not a single mention of him on the internet.

Several weeks passed and having written Ron Mexico off as an elaborate prank concocted by the over active imagination of one of their many friends with far too much time on their hands, Data Transmission didn’t expect to hear from him again. Then the postman delivered a bottle of tequila every day for twelve days. A postcard then followed, with the following message inscribed in Spanish “Now you’re suitably inebriated, perhaps we can talk on Facebook”. One brief chat later, Data Transmission had arranged for Ron to come with us to burgeoning snow festival, Rise, wherein we’d meet the mysterious selector in the flesh for the first time. His rider, predictably contained a variety of mescal, alongside “1 semi-inflated inflatable shark, a frozen banana and a copy of the Karate Kid on VHS”. The time in the French Alps with a masked Ron was fleeting and having ingested what we’d consider a potentially lethal amount of Mexican spirits, Ron Mexico left as much of an enigma as he’d arrived.

6 years on and Ron Mexico became the selector of all music for Data Transmission

After some gentle coaxing and assurances by Hobbs (UK) that he wouldn’t bring any “cameras or cops” ‘Ron’ instructed him to meet him at London’s St. Katharine’s Dock at 10.47 AM precisely with the promise he’d see him. And see him he did. Arriving by jetski, the still masked Mr. Mexico disembarked on to a pontoon wherein they set about creating 'Scolarisé à Domicile'.
