Solid Steel in association with Serato (15 th May) In Hour 1 we welcome Charles Drakeford who runs the From The Depths record label, has a regular slot on NTS Radio and is part of the Principals collective. He told us;
"With this mix I wanted to showcase the sound of FTD as the first few releases have began to carve out some ideas of where it's heading musically. There's some tasters from the next two releases in there, and some forthcoming stuff from likeminded labels All Caps and Levels (out to Bake and Jon Rust respectively). 
The culmination of all this results in a mix that's certainly more designated for listening than dance floors. Stringing together disparate musics from all my influences, or at least the mixable ones. 
I'd like to extend a huge thanks to Solid Steel for allowing me to contribute in their 27th year! "

As a matured artist, BLANCAh is now well established and has defined her music identity with a multitude of unique talents. Her commitment to stay true to her roots, has really pushed her need for creative expansion and has in fact, strengthened her ability to stand out from the crowd.

John Talabot is the acclaimed Spanish DJ and producer who has brought a real sense of melody and occasion to house and techno. The Hivern Discs boss, as well as releasing a standout album in ƒIN, and fine collaborations with Axel Boman and Pional, is also an in-demand remixer celebrated for being able to create majestical grooves from originals by people like The xx and Shit Robot. He has also put together a stunning DJ Kicks mix and now he has been in the booth again, putting together a typically epic podcast for our on going series. 

Across the course of one and a half hours, the Barcelona based Talabot lays out his musical modus operandi in all its glory: serene house riddled with melody, dreamy pads and wavy tones that speak to the soul. With a rather blissed out and dreamy undercurrent, he slowly works through house old and new and keeps a strong, compelling groove present and correct at all times. Officially entitled "Post Summer Melodies" by Talabot, this mix is full of just that, and is sure to keep you warm long after the sun has gone.

DJ & producer David Krasemann, better known as Dave DK has been making waves in the electronic music scene for a couple of years now. Since the early 90's he was fascinated by the upcoming techno movement, which eventually led to his own active initiation. 1995 was the starting point for the then 17 year old.

Together with a longtime friend, Dave produced his first tracks and was involved in the organization of underground techno and house partys, constantly trying to spread and push new electronic music.

Searching for new electronic sounds every day and having honed his skills as a producer in his chosen home Berlin, Dave released his first record on Müller Records in 1998. His DJ activities had been highly pushed since that time. In 1999 he became a resident DJ at Tresor/Globus club in Berlin, later on also at the legendary Panorama Bar. Beside his remix productions for Beroshima and Skiebäck he released records on raum...musik., Decore, Lifetime Music and Cadeaux.

As Dave is an open minded person who resents musical limits, he doesn’t want to be reduced to one style. His sound simply is the result of different styles that have influenced him throughout the years. "I have a passion for the wide range between house and techno as well as pop music and dancefloor stuff of the early 90's", says Dave.

Though he’s elegantly juggling a variety of electronic music to create his own style, in his tracks he often combines tragic melodies with kickin’ grooves that transform your body into a twisting stampede of electricity, with trademark swing and warm funk.

The year 2000 can be marked as the first highlight in his career: his debut album "Sensory Overload“had been released on Müller Records and there were musical excursions on Cologne’s Television label as well as on the Barcelona based Regular label. In 2005 Dave started to record for Moodmusic and also Playhouse (a collaboration with Holger “Smash TV” Zilske) which brings him even closer to his idea of electronic house tunes.

In November 2007 he gave birth to his second album „Lights and Colours“ on Moodmusic. Late 2010 saw the release of Dave’s first Mix CD on Moodmusic called RETAKE ONE. In 2013 Dave returns to Cologne releasing his first 12“ on Kompakt. In 2014 he got signed by DJ Koze for Pampa Records.

For Dave DK, music is a model of living in which he’s able to enhance his skills in order to realise his vision of modern electronic club and home entertainment – expect more fantastic music in the very near future.

In both songs I wanted to try to emulate elements of some early house records I love. Specifically, the simple yet elaborate chords riffs, which are what I’ve always been most drawn to. The other element I wanted was a chopped vocal sample. I couldn’t find any that worked, so I made some myself (thanks Jamie & Vanessa!). I’m hoping the end result are two musical, danceable, positive tracks! If life is a book, page one is LOVE.

From beginnings as a simple London promotor with a penchant for house, MN2S has grown explosively over the past two decades, becoming a huge international booking agency, label management company and global distributor. Now marking 20 years in the game, MN2S want to give something back.

It feels as though most summers here in good ol' Blighty are a bit of a no summer. Sure, by now it may be September but following on from a May in which every one of us enjoyed bright, heady days we've had a bit of a lull and it seems as though Mr Sunshine has decided to pass over London's grey skies for another year.

Still, no harm in partying in the dark and the rain is there? We might as well all jsut take to the streets and celebrate the rain - that'll confuse those in charge of the weather. Failing that, we'll write a strongly worded letter and get all of  our friends to sign it ten times with a bunch of fake signature. Surely 20 signatures is enough to spark a response? This past March marked listed's annual pilgrimage to Miami for a melee of musical magic that is Winter Music Conference, the centerpiece of which was once again Friday morning's annual Freaky Tikki boat cruise, an intimate 150 person dawn to lunch time affair. After each delivered incredible performances in 2011, <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/dannyhowellsdj">Danny Howells</A> and <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cassy-Britton/207845458637"> Cassy</A> returned to the decks, this time deepening their collaboration with an impromptu four hour B2B tag-team extravaganza that followed an oh-so-smooth, steady build <A HREF="http://www.electronicgroove.com/EG335Dory.php">opening set</A> by listed resident <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/djd0ry">Dory</A>.

<A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0rxWhVGoZw&hd=1">Sensitive as ever to the environment and vibe</A>, Danny and Cassy laid down a blissful set of classic summertime house music. Bouncy basslines bopping along like butterflies across the beach, with festive flourishes of filtered funk and gravy-smooth grooves greeting the sunshine, carrying an all too merry crowd along for the ride, <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151245453723623.529308.10116133622&type=3">whilst immersed in good company and stellar sound.</A>

The duo's impressive longevity and musical range were on full display as they seamlessly mixed fresh sounds with some tasty vintage selections, digging deeper (as Danny does) all the way back to classics like the Salt City Orchestra's 1998 remix of the Sneaker Pimps "Post-Modern Sleaze" (2hrs38mins) or Global Communication's 1996 "The Way" (2hrs57mins), led by new favorites like Marcus Homm's "Keyframe Signal" (36min) and blending perfectly into modern classics like Dan Ghenacia and Shonky's newly minted "Close to the Edge" (3hrs6mins).
