Its powerful 4x4 kick is backed up perfectly with skipping percussion guaranteed to keep the dance floor moving, while the classic throwback vocal provides nostalgic millennium memories, enticing the listener to sing along. A certified club banger!

Sweet memories is just that, a track for yesteryear. Tough Loves signature big bumping bass is perfectly balanced with soulful classic vocals. The track playfully teases from the very start, warm soulful pads, strings & keys eventually bring the track to its climax through the introduction of uplifting melodic chord stabs & cleverly arranged percussion. A sure favorite for nu disco & house lovers.

Love & Happiness provides a much deeper insight into Tough Loves musical production style. Its beautiful signature vocal is met with a rip roaring bass typified by their grand garage-esq drums. A cheeky occasional bass line wobble & break section exhibits their musical journey, as the fast rising duo tilt there hat to the UK Garage movement.  

Are You Blind completes this quartet of musical mayhem. Big & bold just like what we expect from the Tough Love duo. This track offers a deeper twist than previous tracks on the album, with its reminiscent verses, chopped vocal and cleverly amended hook line. Constant moving percussion & powerful organ leads prepares “Are You Blind” for any battle on the dance floor.

We are honored here at Musicis4Lovers.com to be able to host the new remix from Nu and Acid Pauli of Daniel Bortz's beautiful composition, "The Misery feat. Nils Corssen". 

Daniel Bortz isn't a big fan of reckless experiments. A fact that makes this new release even more remarkable: he's breaking his own rule of not having his own tracks remixed.

Needless to say, he didn't just pick anyone to get this job done. His choice fell on some highly esteemed friends and colleagues, resulting in a quite remarkable package.

Acid Pauli and Nu give us their interpretation of “The Misery”, using Nils Corssen´s voice as a hook lead element, never losing the melancholy vibe of the original and still putting it into a rather dancefloor-compatible context.

Now as regular readers of the site will know we’ve long been fans of the trio of Jared Simms, James Teej and Voytek Korab, who make up My Favorite Robot and launched the label of the same name back in 2008. Since then My Favorite Robot Records has gone on to forge a reputation as one of the leading labels on the contemporary electronic scene since its launch in 2008 with the heart of the label’s output being music from the MFR production group themselves, but at the same time helping break countless new artists including Fairmont, Sid Le Rock, Tim Paris, and Jori Hulkkonen to name but a few. 
Thus when the label came calling to ask if we’d like to help celebrate the imprint reaching the milestone of their 100th release we jumped at the chance to get involved. One part of a four track EP of  which each track will be given away via a different media outlet you can grab DT’s installment – the excellent Window To Vertigo by My Favorite Robot below. Dj Tennis is Manfredi Romano, born in 1970 and raised between New Jersey, Sicily and Parma in a family where music was such a small thing. No relatives playing any musical instruments, nothing to play at home, no one giving music any special amount of love. But despite this, his creative and artistic attitude have always centered around music - singing, playing and collecting weird and noisy musical instruments at every turn. In 1989 while studying computer science at the Pisa university (just to please his grandfather) he was already playing and singing in school bands and had an indie rock radio show on a local radio station in Palermo. 

Recording bands, organizing parties and DJ'ing at the tennis club where he used to play as a semi-pro player (the Tennis moniker comes from his passion for that sport) all became his way to support the costs of his studies. But when he graduated he never imagined he would turn that hobby into his career. Still he became a DJ anyway, while focusing first on promoting new underground music in his country and founding and developing some of the most important Italian underground musical events such as the Elita festival in Milan and the Dissonanze festival in Rome.

During the last 2 decades he started producing music for theatre, movie soundtracks and TV commercials. His production skills always take inspiration from the psychedelic dark and melancholic sounds of the 60s straight thru to early 2000’s IDM. To name a few influences: Beach Boys, The Who, Talk Talk, Ultravox, XTC, Fugazi, June of 44, Suicide, Radiohead, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Plastikman.

In 2010, tired of the output of the actual musical scene he decided to collect all of his musical works and, with Thugfucker’s Greg Oreck, to start a new techno and pop label called Life and Death. The name of the label has a specific meaning, inspired by the socratic maieutic process to turn subtle and “dead” elements into a new life and referring to the benefit and hypnotic power of music used in the mesmeric processes for brain therapy.

Tennis is actually based in Berlin where he also shares the label experience and a studio with Tale of Us. And he has worked hard to create a crew of young and inspired musicians like Clockwork, Esperanza among others.

Manfredi's main job is still being a Promoter and a Booking agent, he runs a Booking Agency called Daze. http://www.daze.it
