DJ Pierre delivers the second installment of his acclaimed 'Acid 88' compilation series by serving up a quality collection of acid bangers, including Bloody Mary's piercing and squelching peak-time cut 'Love Is Acid'.

With warping 303 riffs Bloody Mary showcases the essence of rave with her hypnotic acid track. The French-born, Berlin-based artist has been carving out her place in the underground for the past decade with releases on various labels, but it's her Dame-Music imprint that's helped her garner a cult-like following. Now her latest offering on Afro Acid will further showcase her unique approach to electronic music.

'DJ Pierre pres. Acid 88 Vol. 2' is set for release June 15.

Wheats joins Jamie Jones’s Hottrax with two murky cuts entitled ‘In Your Head’ this May. 

Bursting onto the scene as a wide-eyed 18-year-old, Wheats received early support from Kerri Chandler who played two of his tracks in his set moments after hearing the demo. Soon after Wheats was signed to Chandler’s MadTech and since then he’s gone on to release on labels like Kaluki, Saved, Circus and VIVa, with support from Calvin Harris, Nic Fanciulli, Hot Since 82, and Jamie Jones. He now joins the latter’s Hottrax imprint with a pair of wonky productions that see him in fine form. 

With its rumbling bassline, piercing snares and squelchy acid licks, ‘You Know’ is a dark and menacing cut from the word go. Meanwhile, ‘What You Do’ is all about a rhythmic groove built from layers of intricate percussion whilst delayed stabs, snare rolls and distorted vocal samples generate a trippy aesthetic throughout.
