Ahead of the release of his album entitled ‘+’, Swiss multi-instrumentalist Jimi Jules teases us with the first, mesmerizing and most sought-after single of the last month, entitled ‘My City’s On Fire’ executively produced by label boss Dixon. The artwork concept is developed and designed by iconic graphic artist Trevor Jackson, whose multi-disciplinary works formed the graphical identities of design, music, fashion and art by the likes of Soulwax, Massive Attack and HFD / Comme des Garcons.

A perfect match for ‘My City’s On Fire’ with its bold, razor-sharp synth lead and low-slung indie/disco live drumming. Jules touches on heritage dance genres while fusing in futuristic sounds and surreal lyricism throughout, amalgamating to a truly unique and danceable experience that embodies his clear abilities as a musician, vocalist, and producer all in one.

Collaborating once again, Canadian duo Return Of The Jaded pair up with Kittball co-owner P.A.C.O. in an atmospheric two-track release.

A key component in the running of Kittball, P.A.C.O. has contributed numerous collaborations and remixes to the German imprint’s catalogue, however it was only in January this year when the Dortmund-based producer released ‘Nights Watch’ - his debut EP. Featuring a collaboration with talented duo Return Of The Jaded, the release saw international support including multiple plays on BBC Radio 1, and they now join forces once again for another stellar outing on Tube & Berger’s renowned label.

Featuring an infectious female vocal is our Debut Transmission today, ‘Rumble’ initiates with a compelling groove before purring synths, uplifting effects and shuffling drums come into fruition. Meanwhile, ‘Deamons’ combines soaring pads with crunchy percussion and echoing rimshots whilst tantalizing melodies operate throughout.

When a record label brings together artists like Ripperton, Tigerskin, Rone, SIS, Sascha Dive, Siopis, Dennis Cruz, Inxec, Switchdance and Los Suruba to name just a few, a 10th anniversary seems to be the natural flow of things. Suruba X started its journey in 2009 when the minds of Alvaro and Delmar joined forces to create an electronic, deep and dark imprint to express their most sophisticated musical curiosities.

Once more art and music are blended in a 26-track compilation that highlights the gems of the label from the last ten years. This album is meant to show you a sample of the scope of Suruba X and all the potential that it has gained over the past decade. 

The dark side of anything is appealable to anyone and this is Los Suruba´s dark, and demanding side where the duo play with styles that oscillate between down tempos, melodic techno vibes, and intense vocals with deep meanings, electric synths and penetrating bass.

The artwork comes from Delmar´s passion for street art.  He picked for the covers a particular artwork, the Brazilian Pixaçao. This is a controversial style of graffiti that mainly transgresses the visual image of most of the public spaces of cities throughout Brazil. Its aesthetics infringes hegemonic aesthetics, which is why it´s criminalized. They found this particular style to align with their sweet escape thorough shameless vocals and naughty beats. 

A must have in any music lover´s collection that assures a trip, a dream and a dance.
