Rising British house producer Tim Taylor makes his debut on Hot Creations this May with the four-track Do You Like...EP. The release continues a standout 2021 schedule for the young talent that has seen him deliver on Deeperfect Shift already this year.

Tim described the inspiration behind the release, stating: “For the entire EP, I was thinking what would sound cool if it was played live by Jamie. I have always loved the darker, funky music he plays and it inspired me massively for this EP.”

Do You Like sets the pace, pairing prominent kicks with a spiralling acid-twinged bassline. Check It soon arrives, taking on a deep-tech-inspired feel with pummelling drum patterns before Scratch strips things back, featuring subtle hats and minimal-tones throughout. Vibrate brings things to a close, a late-night dance floor number that showcases the up-and-coming Brit at his best.

Tim Taylor has taken the UK electronic music scene by storm in recent years. At twenty-one years old, the young upstart has already landed a Beatport top 10 placing thanks to his 2018 release Everybodies Talking. His edit of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean has amassed more than three million plays online, whilst performances at clubbing institutions such as London’s 93 Feet East and Manchester’s Gorilla have helped propel him into the UK spotlight. Backed by an array of well-established talents in the contemporary dance sphere, including Jamie Jones and Michael Bibi, 2021 looks set to be Tim’s biggest year yet with a soon-to-be-announced UK tour.

UK DJ/producer Wheats returns to Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this July with ‘Another Level EP’. 

Following two outstanding EP’s on Hottrax with ‘Another Planet’ and ‘In Your Head’, as well as previous releases on Kaluki, Circus, and Solid Grooves, Wheats delivers another high-quality package for Jamie Jones’ imprint with four tripped-out minimal house tracks on ‘Another Level EP’. 

‘Iz It Done’ starts the release with a flurry of machine-like clicks, pops, and whirs twisting around mangled vocals as a deep low-end pulses throughout. Following this, ‘Chrome Visuals’ sees detailed FX swirl around pounding kicks before a spaced-out breakdown intervenes, bringing a dose of late-night freakiness to proceedings. 

‘N Down’ picks up where ‘Chrome Visuals’ left off, heading straight for the dancefloor as various bass hits and effected samples converge under creeping pads before ‘Control’ closes out the release with textured synth work, swung percussion, and a vocal-laden breakdown.

Making their first appearance on the label, Venezuelan deep house masters Sergio Munoz and Israel Sunshine aka Fur Coat are the next to release on the mighty Hot Creations. Title track ‘There’s No Time’ sees the darker side of the talented duo for an epic experience on the dance floor with deep growling basslines complemented with powerful electronic keys and dramatic builds. On the B-side Hot Creations favourite wAFF delivers a stellar and storming ‘Warehouse Remix’ picking up the pace with added vocals and percussion, packed with all the sonic energy we have come to expect from the young producer. Last up the Fur Coat duo deliver another golden original. ‘Together’ takes it deeper once again with a rumbling bassline and hypnotic synths and keys flowing through the layers to stimulate the senses.

Fur Coat previously remixed Russ Yallop’s ‘The Crossroads’ followed by their debut EP ‘Space Ballad’, featuring an unforgettable edit by TEED. However it would be their release ‘You and I’ featuring vocals from Cari Golden that would put the name Fur Coat on the map. At the end of 2012 they released their huge debut album ‘Mind Over Matter’ on Crosstown Rebels, with further ventures on labels such as Bpitch, Rebellion, Southern Fried Records, Noir, Get Physical and My Favorite Robot.

wAFF has rapidly gone strength to strength in the past few years after being taken under the wing of Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Richy Ahmed. First coming to everyone’s attention with the huge ‘Jo Johnson’ EP, wAFF has gone on to acquire a heavy touring schedule and his more recent ‘Puke It Up’ EP released on the label only cemented his career in the industry further. Alongside his home label wAFF has also been releasing and remixing for labels such as Cocoon Recordings, Resonance Recordings and Rinse.

Two years on from his last release for the label highly rated Italian producer Pirupa is back tearing it up at Saved Towers once again. His three-track EP dives straight into dark, underground tech-house that bristles with the kind of intense atmosphere that has made his tunes such bona fide floor destroyers over the last few years.

“Wise” is built around a sense of urgency and momentum, garnered through relentlessly stabbing basslines, elongated pads, alarm-like melodies and weighty drums. Tension builds throughout the track, tittering on the edge but never spilling over into chaos, preferring instead to revel in the murky, paranoid swirls of uncertainty.

“Can You Hear Me” is once again full of compulsion and drive, but this time comes with a fresh injection of swing. Its deep bassline sways wildly, throwing the groove into an intoxicating whirlwind as chopped-up synths swoon across the top to add the addictive hook that keeps the track ploughing forward so powerfully. “Sunrain” is all about the intricate, chiming melodies that Pirupa masterfully manages to interplay not just with each other, but also with the cylindrical beats that tumble away in the bottom end. All three tracks are fueling the fires of a distinctive producer who consistently churns out music with bags of personality.

Returning to Saved Records for the first time since 2013, Berlin based soundwizard Santé delivers a quality two-track EP of subterranean, bass-driven techno.

“Ghostwriter” is a highly hypnotic, heady and underground tech cut drives with a relentless energy. Build around a stabbing bassline, pounding 4/4s and fluttering synths, the track locks into a magnetizing groove. As the track evolves, the German producer eases in some fuzzy, warm electronics and lush pads, creating a subtle interplay with the intense, druggy layers that lay beneath.

“Stay” is underpinned by a devastatingly simple yet hugely addictive rolling bassline. As the bass grumbles below, punchy beats plough forward alongside loopy FX and soulful vocals. Stripped back at times but showing a matured proclivity for shifting through the gears, the track builds tension without ever spilling over into chaos.
