Sonic One vs twoloud - The Drums (Original Mix)

The resurgent interest in classic house music, whilst going to prove that the genre will always be in demand, is allowing seminal labels like Hard Times to bring their product to a new audience and add a twist to those who were there to appreciate them at the time. In this case Roger Sanchez’s first outing in his S-Man guise was also his first appearance on Hard Times (the label spun off from the fondly remembered Hard Times club night) so its re-emergence is a little bit of house music history.

If you ever admired the Masters at Work/Kenlou or Todd Terry tracks of the early and mid 90’s you could do worse than checking the original mixes, chances are you’ll find this a very familiar track - simply because it captures that moment where house music oozed quality, and dancefloors literally 'bounced to the beat’.

The real treasure of this package however is the Steve Mac & Mat Playford remix which we've secured for exclusive premiere today. Recorded in Steve Mac’s infamous Brighton studio, the talented duo have created a dancefloor weapon, supremely heavy yet atmospheric, beautifully produced yet raw and uncompromising. Don’t expect any pandering here, the boys have quite rightly used a good amount of parts from the original including that funky, nagging bassline, but you get the feeling this is a remix that ended up in exactly the place they wanted it to he.

Lights down, strobe up, the floor will literally have no choice but (as the lyric suggests) to work it. Here’s hoping there are more collaborations from Steve and Mat. Check out their remix in all its retrofitted glory now.

Returning home to their Feel My Bicep imprint, the Dahlia EP is a masterful follow on from their anthem on AUS Music, Just. i-D exclusively bring you the second track off the EP with Rays. Being inspired by some of the lads early morning sets at Panorama Bar, the track is another punchy number with the tumbling bass line building through vocal chops into a deep minor-key 2nd drop. Another Bicep delight set to do definite damage to dance floors both day and night.

Jey Kurmis is a Leeds based producer who has been djing all over the UK for almost ten years and producing for around 7 years. From his first ever release on Phobic Records to his more recent offerings for Hot Creations, Jey has been honing his craft with his music being championed by some of the biggest names in the game.

His first Hot Creations release entitled, Lil Nic French EP dropped on Hot Creations in July 2014. A four pronged attack of bumping summer jams flecked with infectious vocals - lead track Lil Nic French first appeared on Richy Ahmeds massive Rinse FM compilation and rightly sets the tone with its heavy bass beat and mind bending acid line. With the chunky, percussive LA Shazz, the tight kicks and cowbell of the groovy Lover and the freaky groover Miss Raadi the EP made a statement of intent that shows no sign of waning.

With his arsenal of originals and a steady release schedule on some top labels as well as an ever-busier gig schedule which includes the infamous, Paradise@ DC10 in Ibiza 2015 is set to see the rise of Jey Kurmis and truly mark him out as one to watch.
For Exploited Ghetto Jey Kurmis delivered 3 minimal tech-house bombs in his typical ultra-dope trademark sound.

Paride Saraceni - Just For One Day (Original Mix) [Tronic]

My Favorite Robot Records is proud to welcome a new talent to the ranks for a first solo
EP entitled ‘End of a Chapter’. That man is German producer H.O.S.H. and he comes
up with a trio of tantalising tech tracks that add another dimension to the label’s sound
whilst staying true to its passion for sublime synths and unusual grooves.
H.O.S.H. is Hamburg’s Holger Behn, an artist who has spent much of his career
releasing EPs and LPs on Diynamic, the label he helped make famous alongside close
friend Stimming and boss man Solomun. His fresh sound, which tangles between
techno and house, has taken him all over the world, to DJ residencies at various places
in Ibiza and festivals big and small on just about every continent.
Up first here is the colourful and cosmic main room bomb that is ‘Meloman.’ With
twinkling keys and sweeping pads it is a truly expansive affair that has infectious drums
at its heart.
The excellent ‘Aire’ has big drums and snaking shakers, scraping perc sounds and
majestic, wildly repetitive melodies exploding throughout. It is celebratory and euphoric,
expertly programmed and finished with real style and will mark the high point of any set.
Last but not least is ‘Libre,’ which is eight and a half minutes of wonky beats and
pixelated synths, rippling chords and brightly coloured neon melodies that fire every
synapse in your body. It is another adventurous and explosive track that is full of fun
and craziness right in time for the upcoming festival season.
This is a top trio of tracks that is as colourful and stuffed with musicality as you could
imagine.

H.O.S.H. - Libre

New projects are always exciting and the 20/20 Editions label is establishing itself as a great label.

With two fantastic releases under their belt, they are now proud to present the third by a man who knows a thing about hard work and dedication in Data Transmission firm favourite Denney. Hailing from Leeds, he risen through the ranks to achieve global support, now regularly producing and DJing with legends of the scene. With a unique sound, incorporating everything from UK rave culture to futuristic electronica, his music is far from predictable and these two original tracks which highlight the eternity of the Roland TB-303 are no different.

The release opens with todays Debut Transmission ‘Bambuco’, a track laced with tight percussion, infectious acid lines and ravey stabs. All of this works alongside a relentless bassline and driving hi-hats to make the perfect dancefloor track. The EP finishes with a remix of ‘Bambuco’ from 20/20 Vision family member, The Mekanism, which is pretty special!

Third Son may have only debuted in late 2014, but what a year it’s been since. Tapping into his instinctive musical heritage, the Londoner has already landed releases for the likes of Noir Music, Sincopat and Einmusika. Third Son’s ‘Roboturner' has caused quite a ruckus online. Revealed on soundcloud as one of his “white label tracks”, it’s featured in most of Third Son’s sets for the past 6 months, and there’s a reason for that.

The dance-floor aimed beat packs a serious punch. Complete with the artists signature analogue bass sound, unmistakable drums, and eerie late night mid section, expect to be hearing this one on repeat in the clubs for some time.
