This is one of my favorite mixes of all time.  The music is just a perfect blend of techno, house, electro & trance all steamrolled into a quite progressive advanced underground mix, which doesn't exist anywhere else.

Nicole Moudaber is a name we are used to hearing on the radar as a Drumcode artist and she is showing us what she can do on the funkier side of the spectrum with her new EP now landing on Truesoul. Both tracks merge her signature techno sound into something that still contains stacks of class and character. The evolving sounds in both tracks build tension and energy to create after hour burners.

Zoo Music - the brainchild of BBC Radio 1/1Xtra DJ, Monki - hits release No. 6 today with a 2-track offering from Applebottom. 

Coming to prominence through Eton Messy several years ago, Applebottom became the epitome of the UK's growing love for deep, melodic house and the wealth of fresh talent that it exposed. The Bristol-based producer has previously scored releases on Night Tracks and Kerri Chandler's MadTech Records, along with a host of remixes, and he now joins the likes of Zulu, Baxta and Kalyde on the small-but-promising roster of Zoo.

The flip-side to the EP's thumping title-track 'Freak Beat', our Debut Transmission 'I - C' takes a subtle route in, all muted kicks, whispering vox and fading shuffles. As the low-end takes its true form however, it is revealed to be a monster, growling and shape-shifting under a shower of cosmic sonics.

After having worked on many large commercial projects throughout 2015 with Sony Music and Universal Records, being nominated for several Juno Awards, winning the SOCAN Awards 2015 Dance Record of the Year, nominated for Sirius XM Radio Music Awards Dance Act of the Year, going Number 1 on the Billboards in 5 countries, and having a double platinum record of my own song ‘Goodbye’ feat. Islove, it was important for me to musically reach back to my underground house roots.  Getting lost in a sea of A&R’s and indecision-makers, and going through an entirely new process of commercial record writing - with session musicians, vocalists, lyricists etc. - it was the opposite world of writing that I made my records (and success) from many years ago.  I needed to take a break and get back to writing these instrumental pieces where the riffs ARE the vocal lines, and the vibe was a sort of hypnotic mysticism mixed with late night mind bending chasers. ‘Into The Deep’ is a celebration of forward thinking progressive house music - a dash of eccentric and brash synth melodies juxtaposed with bright uppity grand piano chords and warped out arpeggiations.  This is a cohesive body of music here and I wrote this all from around August of 2015 until October (around 3 months).  The first single EP from this album is called ‘Into The Deep’ and it has a very rich sound to it especially in the baseline.  I used a custom series 80 Neve console to get that wide character and the whole piece just really glued together with my mixing approach on this one.  I love the synths in the midsection and the texture to those sounds.  Perfect for late night dark room mash out venues.  On the B Side is ‘Bumblebee’ and that one is a Space Ibiza terrace early night kind of vibe - big room sound, tight percussion and groove, and huge analog synth swells.  I hope you enjoyed this EP as much as I did writing it and if you can give your feedback that helps me very much!

Autoreply boss OCH has been an active figure in the electronic music scene for well over a decade, working as a DJ/producer, for Juno Records and as a journalist himself. Next month OCH lends his skills to new Berlin-based, vinyl-only label Dreiklang, inaugurating the imprint with his First Contact EP, featuring remixes from Hydergine and Kelovolt. With an intriguing concept behind the work, we were intrigued to make contact ourselves to get the low-down from label and an exclusive taster from OCH.
For those who don't speak German, Dreiklang is the name of a musical triad (three note chord), and the word is reflected in the project's unique release plan. The premise is simple, each release will feature three different takes on the same track, each from a different techno perspective - in the case of the debut record, we'll hear tech-house, dub-techno and drone. "OCH’s First Contact will be the first of a series of what we think to be really interesting releases we are very much looking forward to," say the label. "Our goal to triangulate sub genres of techno brought out some really interesting musical conversations between artists you might have not expect to be on one release!" Each record will see a 500 limited edition run of 180gr high-quality vinyls, featuring artwork hand-drawn in Berlin by Nils Altland. "You can look forward to Dreiklang002 by Edit Select with Claudio PRC and Dino Sabatini remixes," add Dreiklang.

Following his Dreiklang release on January 15th, OCH is set to drop his new album Time Tourism in March via Systematic Recordings - don't worry if you can't wait that long, a sampler featuring remixes from Baby Ford and Marc Romboy is scheduled in between. "Next year my own label, Autoreply Music will release a series of 12"s from a very well-known UK techno pioneer," OCH  tells DT. "I don't want to give too much away just yet but he's recently recorded for Robert Hood's M-Plant."

OCH says his mix was recorded in his studio in Stockholm, "I did it in one take largely on my trusty 1200's (which I've had since 1993). There's a lot of exclusive new OCH material included - the set was completely spontaneous, life's to short to pre-program DJ mixes." There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Turn it up and enjoy.

2015 has @Ambassadeurs extremely busy with a slew of EPs and his debut album – “Patterns” released on Lost Tribe Records.

Now back in the studio recording his second album, Mark is dropping this EP in the interim to keep the fans sweet. He wrote these tracks during an escape in the autumn from the city to the countryside. The change of scenery from concrete to wilderness is reflected in the more organic sounds on this 4 tracker, which was written with the bare minimum of equipment to hand, even sampling some old cassettes that were left behind in the cottage where he was staying.

So while a simpler and more stripped back approach was adopted on this EP, it’s still distinctively his sound neatly executed to see a great year out.

January sucks. It's cold, wet and we're all still inexplicably shaking off our Christmas hangover with the summer seeming an age away. Luckily DT have been on hand to help you through this most precarious of months with more exclusive premieres than you can shake a maraca at (we're all out of sticks) and we're continuing that right through until the end of the month with another slice of hot off the press techno for your listening delights on this fine winters day.

Returning to Psyk's ever impressive Non Series imprint for the release of his hotly anticipated album 'Chronicles Of The Future' we've been greatly enamoured with the man from Madrid's work for a while now and so are delighted to be able to exclusively unveil LP cut 'A New Leader. The machine replaces the man.' alongside a statement from Tadeo himself on how the work came to fruition which can be read below.

"I started this album simply writing a script, I think it is important that an album has a continuity that gives the album a cinematic sense, basically this must to tell you a story. For this time I chose the topic of: "the development of human evolution in the future."

I find it interesting to experiment with the sound and textures of the classical music, but not with the idea of how to adapt a techno track with classical instruments, I prefer to writing scores from scratch for each of the instruments and adapting synthesizers as part of that orchestra . I think that all this brings us an epic ingredient, that from the beginning I think it was the link between classical and techno music.

Besides the classical music, I have been experimented with different kinds of recording and synthesis, also I created almost all the sounds from zero. I have included different fx sounds, developed it with techniques as morphing and overlapping layers of sound, all to setup the tracks with a complex and rich textures, but with care about do not obtain something pasty.

I worked a lot with "the space" in the tracks, trying to place each sound in a particular three-dimensional situation with clean reverbs, also the feeling of "tension" is highly significant in this work, but ultimately the most important thing has been to build on a script written -as I said before- so that the narrative is a fundamental part of the album."
