After a busy 2015 that’s taken in a debut Essential Mix, prominent remixes and a heavy international touring schedule – including a residency at Jamie Jones’ world-renowned A Planet Called Paradise at DC10 – Patrick Topping is back with his first original EP of the year. Released on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul, ‘Rights’ reinforces Patrick’s already acclaimed production credentials.

Title track ‘Rights’ features a driving beat, a whispering vocal and crescending drums leading into a seriously grooving bassline and distinctive echoing synth patterns.

‘Tool On’ takes the pace up a notch with an aggressive beat underpinning futuristic electronic melodies, while the final track - percussion-led ‘Foxton’ - features skipping hi-hats and a funk-laden bassline for a guaranteed dancefloor groover.

With a US tour and plenty more dates across the UK, Argentina and Australia still to go this year, Patrick Topping is arguably one of the most in-demand upcoming young producers of his genre - don’t miss out on this latest EP.

The true techno dream team of Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann revisit their Elements project from a few years ago with a new series of killer remixes. Terra - originally released in 2011, did all sorts of damage to dance-floors across the globe. Now, it’s all set to do it again thanks to this Joseph Capriati Remix. The Italian techno headliner has grown into a major force on the scene in recent years, and here delivers a signature slice of muscular, driving techno - taut, dramatic and devastating. Paired with a remix of the now seminal Feugo Julien Jeweil’s remix also hits the spot - the track received a 2016 overhaul with some of Jeweil’s signature flair. The Frenchman has been a constant figure on the top of various charts and line ups for some time, and its easy to see why - Fuego is stripped back machine funk primed for big systems and even bigger moments.

‘They Know’ is an homage to the past, a nod and a wink to what is great and all that is celebrated in electronic music - classic house records. Very tongue in cheek style house reminiscent of the sunny hot evenings of Pacha Ibiza parties over the past few years, Chris Schambacher’s ‘They Know’ will ring all the right notes at the right moment in a night.

2016 was a standout year for Alan Fitzpatrick, with the Drumcode stalwart racing out of the gates in spectacular fashion with the release of his fabric 87 mix. A substantial amount of high profile shows followed, including appearing at the inaugural Junction 2 festival and closing the car park to a packed-to-the-rafters-crowd at Drumcode Halloween. He returns to Drumcode with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, marking his first appearance on the label since late 2016 when he remixed Moby’s seminal ‘Porcelain’.

The release opens with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, a track which caused a Twitter meltdown on Alan’s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. It’s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. ‘Wait A Second’ feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of Adam Beyer’s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on Drumcode Radio. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with ‘Trance, Init?’; A homage to Alan’s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a DJ, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.
