Cristoph’s first offering to Truesoul comes in the shape of a two track, tech house delight. Lead track ‘Genesis’ holds a pounding bass line and distorted vocals. The slow but steady build up, alongside the deep synth stabs, creates an intensive groove. ‘Exodus’ comes packed with atmospheric vocals and funky percussion. The two tracks together create an emotive and fast paced release – one not to be missed.

Heights - Only Knew

Australian-born DJ/producer Husky is on a roll. His album 'Break Free' on his own imprint Bobbin' Head garnered some serious airtime on the office stereo last year,  and now he's back with a brand-new EP titled 'Movin' On'. 

A slick house cut featuring sultry vox courtesy of Shyam, we've locked down the remix by disco hero Pete Herbert that we're premiering right here, right now — listen to it below. 

On the 'Movin' On' project, Husky told DJ Mag: "Movin' On started off as a groovy instrumental cut that I had been tinkering with for a while, during this time I had been doing some vocal projects with Shyam (based in Dubai) and when I sent him this he instantly connected with the groove. I had really done the deeper soulful house vibe on the original so I wanted to enlist some favourite producers of mine to flip it in their own style."

Herbert added: "Always been a big fan of Husky's tracks, great production and chunky beats, so was super happy to try my take on one of his new tracks."

Husky featuring Shyam's 'Movin' On' EP (with remixes by Dantiez and Pete Herbet) is out via Husky's own Bobbin' Head Music this Friday, 10th February.

Dutch pair ANOTR bring Armand Van Helden's Funk Phenomena' back to life with a five star refresh. It's a big start to 2017, following up on their two track smash for Sante's Avotre last year. The new track, which saw much support last year when it initially was created, is all set for an official release on their soon to be launched imprint No Art. What a way to inaugurate the imprint! You can hear the cut in full only on When We Dip today.

Pete Herbert's ‘Hypnotize’ is a typically colourful and heart swelling tune with big pixelated synth stabs, glowing chords and hip swinging drums and percussion.... It’s robust and restless, with wriggling little fills and effects all making the groove bristle with life.
First up on remix duty remix, in the form of Is It Balearic? and Aficionado Recordings artist is Max Essa. He spends most weekends DJing somewhere on the planet, be that in Japan, Brazil or across Europe and counts the likes of Andrew Weatherall in his fanbase. His version is a subtle rework layering in a more round and rubbery bassline that works to prop up the colourful chords above. 
Next up is Xavier Jamaux AKA Bangbang, a French composer and producer who has made his mark as part of the band Orange. Now a solo artist who focusses on film music, his refreshing remix here is more sensuous and deep, with emotive female coos soaring above hanging chords and glistening melodies. 
Last of all, another Frenchman in Sebastien Fauvel, He has done everything from playing live percussion in stage in Queen club to penning tracks used by Sex in the City. Here he gets freaky, deconstructs the track and re-imagines it as a jumbled groove of broken beats, loose percussion and wonky synths. It’s thrilling and utterly unique.
This is another great package of disco with a real difference.

PETE HERBERT - HYPNOTIZE

UK Producer and DJ Pete Herbert, Bali based musician partner Martin Denev and legendary US House vocalist Robert Owens. They steer their sonic empire to peak-hour, prime time house territory with the epic "Pass Me By".

The original track is all about big drums and big soulful Robert Vocals. As ever, he does not disappoint. To help on their quest we have lined up some heavyweight remixes.

Next up we take a spin to Italy where Cosmo-Italo-Balearic-DJs DJ Danielle Baldelli teams up with DJ Rocca for their peak time Vocal remix. Their remix blends in their trademark cosmic riffs with some deeper Italian house grooves, whilst treating the vocal with the full respect it deserves. If it is pulsing, elastic energy you are looking for, then this is the one for you.

We then take a trip down under for Dr Packer's remix. The Australian has made quite a name for himself in the past year with a series of well received and best-selling edits. Here, we asked nicely to turn his talents to the remix department and we are really pleased with the peak-time floor filling results.

Pete  also turn's in his "Remix" version which brings in some Balearic overtones, some cool thumb piano whilst keeping the grooves large. To round things off Baldelli and DJ Rocca dig their beats deeper with their dub version.

A Version of "Pass Me By" appears on the (long over due) album from Pete Herbert and co, "Made In The Shade". Out soon on Nang.
