Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Introducing we release a series of free download singles which aims to spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

As drum & bass becomes an increasingly global scene, it often has the power to unite people across continents and oceans.  This is the case with SNB087 which comes from young talents Leniz and Painted Skies, who are based in Holland and Mexico respectively.  The duo have featured across a plethora of labels including Galacy, Fokuz and Differential (where Leniz acts as A&R); and they now bring their exquisite liquid sound to Skankandbass Introducing on ‘Back When / Let Me Love You Once More’.

Up-and-coming German talent Dava started his musical journey back in 2010, DJing around Freiburg before picking up producing a couple years later.  Now after almost a decade of honing his skills he’s finally broken out through excellent releases on Celsius, Transparent, Sub:stance and Four Corners, presenting his signature take on the funky, soulful and deep drum & bass.  We’re extremely excited to welcome him to Skankandbass Introducing with his most complete work to date, ‘Endless Spiral / Snake Bite’.

Hailing from Salzburg, Austria, Ferice marks his debut on Instinct with a stunning two track single, backed up with an exquisite free download. Ferice has been rapidly making moves with his soulful liquid tones. A great fit for the label and a perfect release to round off the summer!

The title track 'Warning Sign' hits deep and is full of emotion, two attributes we aspire to seek out here at Instinct Recordings. 'Between us' again captures that sound we love perfectly, with added techincality.

Born in Marseille, but based out of London, Pegasvs is an artist many in the underground have gotten to know well over the years. We ourselves have routinely collaborated with the multifaceted producer - either imploring him to expertly craft mixes for our listeners or partnering with him to promote his own tracks and music. 

During the time we’ve known Pegasvs, the French maestro has gone onto establish his imprint Burnin’ Music Records as a dependable and timely fixture that has put out releases from artists such as Salomo, Tryezz, and Pegasvs himself. 

In their latest outing, the label has chosen to put out a single from little known producer Hotevilla, who also hails from France and occasionally operates under the moniker Kalk. Titled Until Dawn, this original kicks things off with an undeniably catchy, looped vocal that sustains itself throughout the piece - giving it an uplifting, almost anthemic feel from start to finish. Hoteville then mimics the likes of other artists such as Moon Boots, by layering on top a space-aged assortment of playful synths, funky bass and airy strings that transform Until Dawn into quite the luxurious affair fit for any rooftop soiree.
