Audio Noir - Paris After Midnight EP [Suffused Music, SMD102]

The australian Audio Noir returns back to Suffused Music after a pair of well acclaimed productions for the lithuanian label. 'Paris After Midnight' is a complex journey, with a soul healing intro part, filled with warm chords. The killer baseline joins the party after 2 and a half minutes, redirecting the energies up to the top, in combination with the melodies becomes a true progressive trip.

Harmon Ikka combined a variety of rising techno flavours with acid and carefully re-used themes from the original track. Florent Campana moved into a more chilling segment of house, with an overall relaxed feel topped with the main melody. Forerunners dreamed a pounding form, with a peak time attitude spiced with haunting elements.

Shai T - a prominent new comer from the israeli house scene - makes his remarkable debut on Stellar Fountain with an etnic sample driven floating house piece called 'Rishikesh'. On the remix duties we can welcome Ghoeyash and Nissim Gavriel.<br>The original track is focusing on the fragile harmony of the embracing synths and mystical voice, merged into one with the smooth beats. Ghoeyash built his version into a more euphoric way, while Nissim Gavriel stripped back the main melodic approach, but kept the hypnotizing flow from the main track.

Anywhere But Home takes us deep into the bowels of progressive with a solid workout that will leave you wanting more. Phat kicks and tight percussion arrangements lock the rhythm in place with a little help from a lush bass that sits perfectly under the main sound. Cool strings and pads sweep across the sound as the layers build and the intensity rises. On the break beautiful melancholic vocals melt into the sound and lead the way on a climactic build up that takes us back into this full on groove. A stunning effort which sees a new side to Manu Riga creep through, top notch.

Pisetzky’s full debut album on Just This, “Tears Of A Rough Machine”, is an exploration into contemporary techno music, fines ambient works and unique broken pieces.
An intense mixture of warmth, weird fluffiness, mystic trumpets and high uplifts, the album is interspersed with short ambient and fragmented interludes, each just a few minutes long: ‘State of consciousness’ and ‘Tears of a rough machine’ are serene and reflective tracks that give the listener time to breathe and bringing him/her back to more dance floor focused tracks of the LP like Viridis, Bakwas
and Wand. 
The result is a magic story, a history in eleven chapters that the listener is guided through, like the landscapes of a mystic journey, with a twist on the melodies and hidden effects behind every deep bass sound.
Mixed and mastered by Neel at Enisslab Studio, Rome.
