Hailing from Mannheim, Germany, Nick has spent nearly two decades refining a sound that’s become synonymous with deep, rolling tech house. 

A key figure behind the so-called “Mannheim sound,” he helped define an era – and continues to evolve with each release. Through his acclaimed label 8Bit Records, Nick has built a catalogue that’s as consistent as it is influential, while his Trust event series has taken him to iconic venues like Watergate, The Bow, BPM Festival, Razzmatazz. and so many others worldwide. Nick’s music speaks louder than any social feed – and it speaks to dance floors.

Whether he’s playing Ushuaïa, Fabric or Pacha, his sets are crafted with precision and purpose, always dialled in to the energy of the crowd. His productions regularly top the Beatport charts and earn support from industry titans like Marco Carola, Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati.

Dnl Mike’s reimagining of Kinky Sound’s “Express” is a masterclass in restraint, groove, and subtle storytelling. From the opening moments, the remix establishes a hypnotic pulse—a finely tuned low-end that immediately anchors the listener into its deep, meditative flow. The kick is warm and rounded, balanced against a textured bassline that breathes rather than pounds, creating a sense of movement that feels organic and alive.

As layers unfold, Mike draws from his love of modular synthesis and analog sensibilities: arpeggiated flourishes flicker across the stereo field, while atmospheric pads create a vast, cinematic space. These textures don’t overwhelm; instead, they appear and retreat like passing scenery on a night train, keeping the listener engaged without ever breaking the spell of the groove.

The remix thrives on patience. Rather than rushing into peaks and drops, Mike allows tension to build gradually through subtle shifts—hi-hats that sharpen, percussive elements that emerge like whispers, and melodic fragments that shimmer before dissolving into the mix. This kind of storytelling shows a producer deeply attuned to the nuances of dance floor dynamics, where the journey itself is the destination.

Emotionally, the remix evokes a sense of introspection and weightless travel. It’s not a track that demands attention with force; instead, it seduces the listener into surrender, inviting them to lose themselves in its carefully sculpted layers. On the dance floor, it feels equally suited for a sunrise moment at a festival as it does for an intimate club setting where deep heads gather for something more than just rhythm.

With “Express,” Dnl Mike doesn’t just remix—he reframes. He transforms the original into a deeper, more atmospheric exploration, one that aligns perfectly with Magician On Duty’s reputation for cinematic, emotional storytelling in electronic music. It’s the kind of track that DJs will reach for when they want to elevate a set into something timeless and transporting.

Forthcoming on HOUSeTOwN Recordings, we have three veteran producers and DJs coming together for a three track release. All three are exceptional ambassadors of underground house music, each with multiple decades of pushing the sounds of the underground.  With releases on multiple labels all over the globe and countless DJ bookings over the decades, these three powerhouses have come together to remix Paul Dynes latest work entitled Returning Home.

For the release, Paul Dyne brought the original to life with a classic piece of dance floor business. So we had to do it justice on the remix tip. Enter Andrew Macari, Label Boss of Greenhouse Recordings, and Alexander East founder of Planet East Recordings. 2 phenomenal producers and musicians with decades of releases under their belts.

 The opening cut comes from Paul Dyne. A veteran of the Texas underground scene.  He brings decades of Djing and production knowledge to the table. He was on a studio hiatus for a while, building his family and career. But he's back now, Just started his own label and returns to form here like he never left the dj booth/studio. 

Paul starts us off with some nicely detailed percussion that mixes with ease, then develops a groove, layering the elements, a few stabs and pads then, wham, a thick, chuggin 'bassline drops in that just captivates the ear immediately.  The low end rolls and chugs along beautifully, and you know your ears are in for a treat. From there the track continues to keep the feet moving and the vibes rocking with super slick production work; featuring beautifully layered pads, stabs, funky rhythms and a solid groove. Add in a beautiful vocal sample that just rings true to proper underground house music itself, it all rides nicely on Paul's signature infectious drum programming, and the result is a track made for djs, by djs, and absolutely built for the dancefloor.
