Beta 2 has been mastering the art of production for years, blending jazzy elements with cinematic depth to create truly immersive Drum & Bass. He’s long been one of the most exciting artists on Metalheadz, so it’s a real treat to see him back with a fresh three-tracker, ‘White Dahlia’.

The title track takes a different approach, stripping things back with organic, live instrument-driven sounds rather than the usual synth-heavy style—it’s a real breath of fresh air.

On the flip of a limited edition white 10” lathe cut, ‘Kerb Kruncher’ throws it back to the early 2000s with raw energy and gritty textures, delivering some proper nostalgia.

Closing things out, ‘Carter’ is classic Beta 2—deep, moody, and dripping in atmosphere, with those signature noir vibes and rich double bass tones.

Matthew Cornell has been working as a DJ since 1991, and his second passion is graphic design and graffiti. In 1993, he produced several hardcore gabber songs that were available on vinyl and CD in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. 

At the end of the 1990s, Matthew worked as Resident DJ Serum (Tivoli, Aladin) and graphic designer at Lifeline Promotions in Bremen, Germany. 


He was one of the first German DJs to play drum n bass in the UK at ‘The End’ in London at ‘One Nation’. 

His debut album ‘Soul Addiction’ on ‘Elastic Cage Music’ was released in 2008 under the pseudonym ‘Le Trikot’. Matt has released several songs in the genres of disco, techno, minimal, house and jazz. Between 2012 and 2013, Matthew toured with Radek Fedyk, a jazz musician from Poland. Under the name ‘Fedyk Samp; Cornell’, they played live electronica-jazz sessions in several clubs. In 2017, Matt found singer-songwriter Linda Green from Hanover, Germany. The duo now calls itself ‘Zoolectric’ and makes electro-pop. Matt likes different musical influences, which is also reflected in his productions. His own record labels, elastic/cage music and Export Records, are represented worldwide with tech house and techno styles.
