Last month, with Goldie's guest curatorship of Resident Advisor, we focused on the history of one of the most important music genres and scenes to come out of the UK: drum & bass. With this RA Podcast from Kasra, we switch over to the style's cutting edge. He's probably best known for his long-running Critical Music label, whose name is instructive. You'll find some of the most essential, crucial drum & bass of the last two decades through its 20-plus year-old back catalogue.

As a DJ and producer, Kasra embodies everything great about Critical and its approach: drum & bass with flair and personality, forward-thinking while staying true to the roots of the sound. The kind of music he plays is wide-ranging, but it usually leans towards the tight and minimalist. The basslines stop and start like stuck engines, drums hit with the mechanical precision of a Swiss-made watch, the MCs move with a tactical flow. Celia Espinosa, conocida como S.Lya. Celia es una joven puertorrealeña de 25 años, residente actual en Granada. Empezó a interesarse por la música electrónica hace unos 6 años, pero no empezaría a introducirse en la escena del Drum and Bass como DJ hasta octubre de 2022. 
Esta artista se caracteriza por mezclar en sus sets varios tipos de géneros musicales, especialmente liquid-deep, deep, techstep, rollerz y está introduciendose en el neuro-deep.
S.Lya ha realizado sets en Sala PlantaBaja con la plataforma Haus of Speed y con la plataforma Pyramid, Patapalo con la familia de Substation, Industrial Copera con la misma y sala El Tren de mano de Zer02soulcollective. 
Está influenciada musicalmente por artistas como: Survey, QZB, Nemy, Nuke, Incorporate, Ill Truth, Gyrofield, Missledz, Amoss, Geostatic, Pola & Bryson…
Y nacionalmente influenciada por State of Disorder, Vertx, L3vi, Super Rush, Shadowless, Drelio…
Actualmente es componente de la plataforma Pytamid y del colectivo Southland.

Off-License Records had originally signed the 'Eternal Sin' EP several months ago, alongside a single track for the 'Reduced To Clear' series. However, just before the intended release of the latter, news of Josh's tragic passing in a car accident surfaced. In reaching out to his family, there arose the question of whether to proceed with these planned releases. The family expressed their desire for Josh's music to persist in finding an audience. Reports indicated Josh had a substantial collection of tracks, including a full EP, awaiting release at a later time.

For those who come across this message, it's important to note that the entirety of the proceeds generated from this EP will be directed back to Chill Collective's family and close circle. The decision was made not to retain the typical share for the record label, as supporting Josh's family took precedence over any label gains. Gratitude was extended to the mastering house, ION Digital, for their contribution in mastering these tracks without charge. Additionally, heartfelt appreciation was conveyed to all who had already shown support for Josh's previous release, Salvation (OLRTC011).

In moments like these, the Drum & Bass community's essence of love, respect, and communal support shines through. These values are foundational to the genre and continue to resonate. Rest in peace, Josh. May the enduring legacy of your music remain a testament to your spirit. <3
