Oliver Henry returns to Alan Fitzpatrick’s imprint Apex Faction for his second release ‘From The Ashes’. Classically trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Henry’s technical proficiency is evident in his productions. Transcending genres from breakbeat, house, brooding electronica and more to create forward thinking music. 

The Sydney-based producer encapsulates his state-of-the art creations across three exceptional tracks though his ‘From The Ashes’ EP. Each track is crafted by his impressive instrumental abilities, with tight drum productions, mesmerizing sound designs and beautifully composed chord progressions. Example)’, P Money x Whiney are upping the levels once again with all roads leading to their highly anticipated debut album later this year… 

Telling the story of how music quite literally was his ‘saviour’, P Money’s brutal yet humble flows spar perfectly against Whiney’s gritty drum & bass instrumental. Staccato strings and a gliding 808 bassline, ‘Saviour’ pays its homage to the roots of grime but with a 174BPM twist. Y-Zer blesses the new-age anthem with her witty wordplay and captivating vocal tones which have seen her collaborate alongside the likes of Mollie Collins and Harry Shotta. 

Looking back, it’s been a hell of a ride for P Money x Whiney so far, and they’re only just getting started. Fresh off the back off their sell-out Australia & New Zealand tour, the duo are hitting the ground running with heaps of brand new music in the pipeline. Composed during a brief return to NZ in 2023 during an untimely visa debacle, J Plates joins forces with Hamilton City Junglist: DJ Paradise | @djparadise07 (Backlash Records | @backlashrecordsuk) to bring a selection of thought provoking Jungle tracks hot off the heels of it’s predecessor ‘It’s Not Over EP', released earlier in the year.

Lead single ‘You & Me’ establishes the senses with immediate surroundings of nature, fluid vocal movements, and a dreamlike sub-consciousness that weaves throughout the arrangement.

B side ‘Get A Rush’ follows next, featuring a complexity of layered pad & synth lines; it’s developing melodic elements evoking a tempered nostalgia, while it’s brooding bass line holds it all together.

Closing number ‘Dance Tonight’ picks up the pace with it’s frantic drum work & euphoric vocal chops; delivering a more melancholic contrast with it’s varied synth elements drifting throughout.
