Wir dürfen vorstellen: Judokay, der Mann aus Braunschweig, der so fleißig an den eigenen Beats trainiert, wie einst der Begründer der japanischen Kampfsportart, die Judokay im Namen trägt. Bei dem, was er für UTM-Records liefert, ist der Name Programm, handelt es sich schlicht um die „Delivery EP“. Und er liefert ab nach Maß!

Los geht’s mit „Cystitis“, der gleich mal mit derbe schweren Beats vorbetoniert. Bei „Transform“ schraubt Judokay den pH-Wert mächtig nach unten und hat im Labor ein ordentlich verätzendes Track-Gebräu, inklusive freifräsendem Synth angerührt. „2 Tuff“ wagt die Antithese und geht drei Schritte vor: 4 to the floor für einmal hands in the air. Zum Abschluss nun das titelgebende Stück „Delivery“, einer Koproduktion mit dem kongenialen MC Monch. Ähnlich harmonierend, wie die beiden Protagonisten im Studio, geht es im Track zu. Die Klangfarben sind dunkel und geheimnisvoll, als lieferten sie den Soundtrack für Indiana Jones. Gefunden wird zwar nicht der Heilige Gral, doch aber die adäquat stoischen Bars von Monch. Und somit haben wir eine Win-Win-Situation, gleichermaßen für „Delivery“, wie auch die beiden Künstler.

Almost exactly a year ago we presented you the first edition of a compilation that should unite almost every Drum and Bass subgenre on one sampler. The integrative idea is so appealing that we now follow up with volume 2 and want to present a selection of tracks with different styles again. The protagonists represented here also result in a colorful potpourri of national, transregional and international artists, some of whom have already made a name for themselves on other labels in the meantime. And so we are pleased that some of the producers are represented twice here, such as Scurrow, who provides the framework for the release with his two very different works. His remix for Bassface Sascha’s “Inside The Rabbit Hole (feat. Trinity)” sets the pyramid on fire right at the start of the compilation. Escape impossible! “There Is No Wifi In The Jungle” marks the end: a breaky jungle slammer for heads that want it percussive and can stand a lot of bass as well. In between, of course, there are also techy tracks, e.g. by Clusta, who can add a VIP crown to his mighty “Cave Of Evil”. With Gisix we have a true debutant who sets a real exclamation mark with his expansive “Poppy” including sawtooth synth! Another slammer comes from new signing Kontrakt from Finland. “Network” is a hectic number, metaphorically speaking somewhere between tangled cables and stressed office colleagues. Low Performance also made his debut for us and is here with the grinding “Call Of Cthulhu” that would make every tunnel drill green with envy. The deeper pieces come once again from the favorite Italian Petarda, with Elektronik VIP soaring up to an uplifting sound aesthetic and Petarda actually only initiates us into one of his another dark sound secrets with “Nostalgy”. 🐘🐙 The Octophantelepus

In the deepest trench of the Bassquarium stirs the Octophantelepus, a colossal hybrid born from bass pressure itself. An octopus with the head of an elephant, it trumpets sub-bass blasts that shake entire reefs into syncopation. Its eight vast tentacles weave Amen breaks in impossible polyrhythms, tangling time signatures like seaweed in the current.

Legend says the Octophantelepus surfaces only during the most euphoric raves, when the dancefloor is drenched in sweat and the decks threaten to collapse. When it emerges, junglists feel the pull of its tidal rhythm, sucked into its whirlpool of rolling breaks and hypnotic basslines.

Some claim its eyes are ancient vinyl, spinning grooves of forgotten dubplates. Others swear its inky clouds are pure reverb tails, spilling endlessly into the cosmic sea.

The Wobblefish revere it as their elder, and even the bravest Skankonauts tread lightly near its lair. For if you hear the Octophantelepus drop, you are no longer a dancer—you are part of the reef.
