After a successful 2019 including the critically acclaimed ode to rave culture Saxon Street EP, with singles like ‘One More Time’ and ‘London Soul’ gaining support from the scene’s most influential tastemakers and DJs, Insomniax are back with their first release of 2020.

A collaboration with label favourite Miss Trouble, ‘Elements’ opens on a foreboding note, delivering a sinister soundscape right from the start. Combining the dark grit of neuro with the more jovial drums of the genre’s jungle origins, the production pairs perfectly with the distinguished vocals of Miss Trouble for one seriously memorable result. Where the drops deliver an infectious groove, things turn much more ominous as Miss Trouble’s iconic voice becomes more and more robotic, giving the track an apocalyptic flair.

With two Viper favourites coming together on one track, you know the result is going to be nothing short of phenomenal, and the creative forces behind ‘Elements’ certainly don’t disappoint. Sinister yet catchy, Insomniax and Miss Trouble have proven to be a match made in heaven and marks a strong start to 2020 for both.

Moscow based artist Cutworx brings his guttural, technoid sounds to the Program platform, sister label of leading drum & bass imprint Ram Records. And comprising of three brand new records, his forthcoming ‘Zen Champ’ EP delivers to the darker corners of the Program camp.

Title-track ‘Zen Champ’ sets the tone, with quickly flitting drum loops and glitchy stabs. ‘Sides’ follows suit with twisted mechanics and melodies built through the track's synths. ‘Rvanina’ focuses around its growling bassline, peddling a seismic weight whilst pulling together one heavy delivery from Cutworx. So once again, it’s time to get with the Program. Taking you to subterranean levels with the help of the Russian maestro.

Russian drum & bass producer Nuvertal returns to underground imprint Program following his track on their colossal Programmed compilation series earlier in 2020. Well known for hosting the sister-show of Neuropunk, with his show focusing on the more liquid funk and deeper vibes, he’s a staple within the global scene as well as Russia. His forthcoming release draws for four brand new selections and it highlights his role within the new generation of producers staking their claim on Ram Record’s infamous sub-label.

We have the exclusive premieres of ‘Apogee’ below, which drops on Friday. Amongst clunking mechanics and steppy bass rhythms, ‘Apogee’ is a twisted entrée into his sound.
