From highly energised dance floor cuts, to lo-fi, powerful soundscapes, this is  the ever-evolving world of Deft. Following on from singles ‘Zimma’ and ‘Click The Snap’, Deft presents the complete package ‘Pressure’. This is his take on rap beats meets bass music, a new direction that came off the tail end of where to go next from his debut album ‘Cracks’.

“Last year I released my debut album 'Cracks'; It's the most personal work I've written to date and a project that I was very emotionally invested in for three years. Once it was released, I was left not really knowing where to take things, but slowly found some fun in writing with rap beat formats and palettes; 8 on, 8 off, stripped back, low swung beats. I'm having a lot of fun writing in this area at the moment, and enjoying the process - hopefully more of this to come.”

Solace and Jabaru are quickly becoming ones to watch. Last seen on Dispatch Limited in 2019, the pair are back with an impressive two track release.

Working internationally, the Belgian and Portuguese producers began each track individually, sending a work in progress to the other to complete and combine styles.

MC Kenna joins the pair, adding the final unique touch to the driving “Premonition”, and the exceptionally named “Titles Are Overrated” is a tense, building, progressive stepper that hits differently in just the right way.

Watch out for more to come from this talented combination.
