The Nu:Logic duo return with their combined genius to present a second full-length collaborative effort ‘Somewhere Between The Light’. As two pioneers of the signature Hospital sound, brothers Nu:Tone and Logistics have become influencers and tastemakers in the genre with a deep back-catalogue of smooth, soulful, liquid drum & bass. This 13-track long player soars through the same ethereal movements with a welcomed dip into new territory.

Tracks ‘Somewhere Between The Light’, ‘Side By Side’, ‘Driftwood’ and ‘Red Velvet’ are sure to satisfy the needs of those after classic Hospital rhythms. Heart-wrenching vocals delivered by the likes of Child of Chief, Thomas Oliver and Ed Thomas balance blissful highs with lower register tones. Fitting into their love of feel-good funk and bluesy grooves is ‘Nova’ with subtle horns and bouncing basslines in the mix.

Nu:Logic have one foot firmly in the future with ‘Strut’, featuring fellow Gresham brother Other Echoes and an anti-drop switch up ready to dominate dancefloors world over. ‘Our Nights’, created with prolific multi-genre producers The Nextmen, shakes a half-time stick with a glistening roller feel. Other highbrow match-ups come from LSB in ‘Sepia’ and ‘Pathways’ with singer/songwriter Blake.

Separately and together these two continue on paths to success, with younger brother Logistics reaching BBC Radio 1’s playlist last year following his sixth studio album ‘Electric Sun’. For the last three years Dan Nu:Tone has become a crucial member of the Hospital A+R team, having an influential role in the progression of both up and coming artists and longstanding members of the family. Their DJ dates continue to take them across the globe with sets promised at the 2017 editions of Standon Calling, Mysteryland, Made Festival and the drum & bass baller Hospitality In The Park.

Nu:Logic is a collaborative partnership between Hospital signings Nu:Tone and Logistics. The two brothers, Dan and Matt Gresham, first joined forces under this new alias in the mid noughties, with the first Nu:Logic release "On & On" appearing on Hospital in 2004. The project went on the back burner until 2010 when they released their "New Technique" EP to great critical acclaim.

The pair combine the music that they love - music with soul, atmosphere, tension and groove - together into one melting pot of sound. Whilst growing up they were exposed to the same music, but quickly found their tastes diverging. However now they are older, these have moved closer together again and at the core is a shared love of artists such as DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, MoWax, Full Cycle, Heaz, No U Turn, Jazzanova and Calibre.

With nine individual albums between them and their debut Nu:Logic album "What I've Always Waited For" released in 2013 which has been making waves in the D&B scene and beyond, it is now time for their new album "Somewhere Between The Light" which is due out in June this year.

“A quiet night on Space Pirate Bay. The airlocks open and a thrilling yet soothing repetitive sound rings throughout the corridors of the station. A duo of purebred Space Pirates dock their vessel and bring forth the spoils of their latest quest.”

Their names; Cedex & Higher Underground. Both hailing from the Class-M rock BE32, better know by its inhabitants as Belgium. Both have a long standing history promoting fast breakbeat music in this outskirt of the Copernican System. The duo’s stepped up their game recently while their first productions have seen the light of day. Their collaboration with James Marvel titled ‘Red Alert’ appears on Space Pirate Recordings’ first album ‘Space Pirate Trainer OST’ and even more recently they showed a deeper and rolling side with their release of ‘The Alarm’ on Lifestyle Music’s Belgian Connection LP. 

‘Being You’ is a deep roller drawing influence from many different sides of the drum&bass spectrum. Without adhering to any set standard, it takes the listener on a journey through melodic patterns, lush filtered chords, snappy and rolling percussion guided by a deep and catching bassline.  
Appearing as their first solo release on SPR, with ‘Being You’  they further confirm their entry into the scene as a production duo to be on the lookout for.

Since the release of his debut album ‘Crate Six Seven’, that received support from liquid pioneers Technimatic, Makoto, Etherwood and BCee, Mitekiss has been cooking up his latest venture with Hospital Records, the ‘Objects To Push’ EP. Consisting of four sublime tracks that explore the soulful, deeper domains of drum & bass. The musicality and versatility of Mitekiss’ production are brought to light once more, drawing for his love of jazz, disco and 174 beats.

‘Matter (feat. Vonné)’ eases in with elegant melodies, soothing piano flourishes and the eloquent vocal hooks of London based singer-songwriter Vonné. Named after dark matter, “which represents the lyrics ‘gravity pulling me under’”, explains Mitekiss. Smooth liquid-jazz bubbler ‘Tonic’ follows, as hypnotising pads and sophisticated piano licks rest delicately upon a blues-style upright bassline and rolling breakbeats.

Teaming up with Bristol’s Ruth Royall, ‘Magic’ adds a touch of undeniable euphoria to the EP. A classic feel-good drum & bass anthem that pays homage to Mitekiss’ love for all things uplifting and heartfelt. Last but certainly not least, ‘Charter’ brings the EP to a close. Darker, spellbinding atmospherics and hard hitting bass stabs are a clear demonstration of the depths of the EP.

With ‘Objects To Push’ Mitekiss has continued to develop his soulful, liquid-jazz sound, further cementing his unique standing in drum & bass territory. The successes of his contributions to the scene include his regular ‘Mitekast’ podcast and weekly ‘Rhythm Roulette’ tutorial series, as well as releases on Shogun Audio, Skankandbass and his own imprint Goldfat Records, that have seen Mitekiss appraised as a producer’s producer who is here to stay.

Stunning piano chord progressions lead the way, accompanied by warming strings and polished breaks to take the listener on a cinematic journey across the ever expanding world of drum & bass.

An eminent champion of classically infused drum & bass, it goes without saying that Keeno’s capability to draw for grittier numbers in the studio continues to be valued just as highly. Flipping over to the B-side, ‘Equinox’ offers a symphonious introduction through immersive brass melodies and a delicate sprinkling of reverberated vocal slices, before a rippling reese bass and punch-packed drums thrust into play.

With support for his music spanning from a Self-Certified Selection from BBC Radio 1’s MistaJam, Rene LaVice and Andi Durrant to electronic dance music topliner Don Diablo, the far-reaching appeal for the sounds of Keeno’s show shows no sign of slowing down.
