Joy Orbison’s Flight FM has quickly become one of the most iconic electronic tracks of the past year. A tune that feels underground at its core, yet resonates far beyond. Since the original leans into UK Garage, I wanted to create a Drum and Bass version tailored for my sets, pushing its energy into a faster, heavier direction.

This remix was born out of pure curiosity: what would happen if Flight FM took off at DnB speed? The result is something I’m truly proud of, a powerful DJ tool built to shake the dancefloor, keeping the essence of the original while giving it a new form that hits harder and drives the crowd into madness.

TRC2 drops his first full EP on Codename: RCRDS with a stunning selection of deep rollers perfectly showcasing this rising talent with a defiantly unique sound pitching towards darker edges.

The EP opens with 'Basement', where crisp breaks and gully baselines combine with ominous atmospheres and synth riffs for a dark introspective roller. Things continue with the haunting techy dreamstate of 'Marvel At What Could Have Been', full of stabbing synths and rumbling basslines, before title track 'Assembly Code' moves towards more rolling drumfunk stylings. The EP closes with techstep 'Rapid Adaptation', where initially darker elements give way to lush pianos and driving synths.

Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. You’re probably more familiar with Dunk as one half of Jam Thieves, whose take on hard hitting, minimal jump up is one of our favourite Brazilian exports.  The Sao Paulo native is in the midst of a breakout year, with features on Chronic, Sofa Sound, Four Corners and now Skankandbass Introducing.  On SNB073 he delivers two his trademark lethal cuts with ‘Rolling Golden / Sound Of A Dub’, featuring fellow Brazilian Black Opps on the A-side.
